Tennessee is 10-5-1 all-time against Alabama. The Crimson Tide has won the last two meetings. Tennessee has faced Alabama once before in the SEC Tournament. The teams played on Nov. 5, 1998, with the Crimson Tide taking a 1-0 win. Oct. 20, 2011: Alabama won, 1-0, in Tuscaloosa. Sept. 14, 2012: Tennessee defeated Alabama, 2-1, in double overtime in Knoxville. Hannah Wilkinson had the equalizer in the 17th minute. Kylie Bono scored the winner in the 97th minute on a deflection off the keeper. Sept. 20, 2013: Alabama won, 4-2, in Tuscaloosa. Amy Neal scored goals in the 54th and 63rd minutes in an effort to rally UT back from a 3-0 halftime deficit. Sept. 26, 2014: Alabama won, 4-2, in Tuscaloosa. TENNESSEE RETURNS TO SEC TOURNAMENT
Tennessee is in the SEC Tournament for the 17th time in program history. UT is 13-11-4 all-time in the SEC Tournament. UT is 23-20-6 all-time in postseason contests (SEC Tournament + NCAA Tournament). Tennessee was last in the SEC Tournament in 2012 as the No. 3 seed, tying No. 6 seed Auburn, 0-0, in the quarterfinals with the Tigers advancing on PKs, 5-3. UT second all-time in league history behind only Florida with four SEC Tournament titles (2002, 2003, 2005, 2008). Nine players on UT’s roster have postseason playing experience: seniors Julie Eckel (redshirting this season), Allie Sirna, Brittney Wade and Hannah Wilkinson, and juniors Susan Ferguson, Mackenzie Moore, Gabby Santorio, Jamie Simmons (with UNC Greensboro in 2013) and redshirt sophomore Kiah Allen (with UNC Greensboro in 2013).
SPADE & BALDWIN EARN SEC WEEKLY HONORS
On Friday, senior Cheyenne Spade was named SEC Offensive Player of The Week and freshman Carlyn Baldwin was named SEC Freshman of the Week. Spade sent an arcing shot inside the box to the left side of the net in the 108th minute to lift Tennessee to a 3-2 double overtime win over Ole Miss and punch UT’s ticket to the 2014 SEC Tournament. SIRNA - A DEFENSIVE STAPLE
Senior center back Allie Sirna ranks seventh in Tennessee history with 7,533 minutes minutes played and, after playing 107 minutes in the regular-season finale at Ole Miss, she passed Lyndsey Patterson (7,517) is in sixth place on UT’s all-time list. Sirna trails only Ali Christoph (8,513, 2003-06), Keeley Dowling (8,239, 2001-04), Erica Griffin (8,173, 2004-07), Kayla Lockaby (7,893, 2001-04) and Sue Flamini (7,887, 2001-04). Sirna also has 27 complete shutouts (full 90 or 90+ minuts), the fourth most in Tennessee history for a defensive field player, trailing only Erica Griffin (39), Jenny Jeffers (30) and Keeley Dowling (28).
