ENTERING THIS WEEK’S SERIES...

¢ Inclement weather canceled No. 4 Tennessee’s Tuesday game against Eastern Kentucky. ¢ UT went 3-1 last week with a midweek win over Tennessee Tech and two wins and a loss at No. 21 Texas A&M. ¢ UT enjoyed two of its best offensive games last week, crushing Tennessee Tech, 13-5 (5), with four home runs on April 8 and surging past Texas A&M, 15-2 (5), with a school-record-tying five home runs on April 12. ¢ Senior Madison Shipman was named SEC Player of the Week after hitting .500 with five home runs, eight RBIs, seven runs, a 1.750 slugging percentage and a .600 on-base percentage (2.350 OPS). ¢ Shipman is the third Tennessee softball player to earn SEC Player of the Week honors three times in a career, joining Raven Chavanne (2010-13, six times) and Lindsay Schutzler (2004-07, three times). ¢ With five home runs on the week, Shipman moved to third place on Tennessee’s all-time list. Shipman now has 40 career homers and trails only Tonya Callahan (51 from 2005-08) and Lauren Gibson (46 from 2010-13). ¢ Freshman Annie Aldrete also enjoyed an impressive week at the plate last week, hitting .462 with two homers, two doubles and eight RBIs. ¢ On Thursday, Aldrete was named a Top 25 Finalist for the inaugural NFCA Division I National Player of the Year award. ¢ Sophomore Haley Tobler hit a team-high .600 last week, going 6-for-10 with one double and one RBI.
