LOOKING BACK ¢ Tennessee posted a 3-2 record last week, sweeping a midweek series over Western Kentucky before taking a game off of Alabama in Tuscaloosa over the weekend. ¢ Freshman right-hander Trevor Bettencourt recorded wins in both of his appearances last week, helping the Vols shut out Western Kentucky, 4-0, on Tuesday and coming out of the bullpen to shut down Alabama in a 7-6 win on Saturday. The victories were the first two of his collegiate career.
LOOKING FORWARD ¢ Tennessee will return to SEC play this weekend when it will host conference newcomer Missouri, March 22-24. The series will mark the first time the two programs have ever played each other. ¢ While senior RHP Zack Godley will continue to the get the ball on Friday night (6 p.m.), the Vols will shuffle the rotation behind him with junior RHP Nick Williams set to make his first start of the season on Saturday (4 p.m.) and freshman RHP Trevor Bettencourt in the Sunday (2 p.m.) slot.
TWO-OUT PRODUCTION Tennessee has thrived in pressure situations at the plate this season, hitting .306 (71-for-232) with two outs on the scoreboard, compared to a .248 average (105-of-423) with less than two outs. Of the team’s 94 RBIs, 50 of them (53.2 percent) have come with two outs. Sophomore Will Maddox has led that charge, going 12-for-23 (.522) and recording nine of his 14 RBIs on the year with two outs. Junior Scott Price has also contributed to the cause, hitting at a .375 clip (12-for-32) with four RBIs in two-out situations. C 1B 2B 3B SS LF CF
