FIRST MEETING
¢ Tennessee won its first meeting with ETSU, 9-7, on Tuesday, Feb. 26. The Vols used a pair of big innings - scoring six runs in the third and three in the fifth - to race past the Buccaneers. ¢ Freshman Matt Esparza recorded his first career win, allowing two runs on three hits in 3.1 innings. Fellow classmate Trevor Bettencourt pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his second save. ¢ Will Maddox and Vincent Jackson were both 3-for-4 with an RBI while Vance Vizcaino drove in two and scored twice.

VOLS VS. CANCER
¢ The Tennessee baseball team joined forces with the Vs. Cancer Foundation to help fight childhood cancer by holding a head-shaving event on Thursday, April 4 at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. ¢ The Vols have helped to raise over $3,000 already and donations are still welcome. Fans can contribute online at Tennesssee.vs-cancer.org. Half of the money raised will be donated to the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, while the other half will go to support cancer research nationwide. ¢ The Vs. Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving kids’ lives by empowering athletes and communities to fund lifesaving childhood cancer efforts.
