GAME 18 SET-UP #9/9 Tennessee (14-3/5-0 SEC) and Alabama (11-6/1-3 SEC) will reconvene for the 48th meeting between the programs at 1:05 p.m. Eastern time in a “We Back Pat” game televised live on CSS and available on ESPN3. Fans are asked to wear “We Back Pat” t-shirts or purple apparel to show their support for the Pat Summitt Foundation’s fight against Alzheimer’s. See more about that on page three. UT returns to the hardwood following a come-from-behind, 75-66 road victory over Auburn on Thursday night that kept the Lady Vols unbeaten in league play. Alabama was idle on Thursday but took care of Ole Miss, 83-75, in Oxford last Sunday. The Lady Vols enter Sunday’s contest on a seven-game winning streak, defeating Davidson, #NR/RV Rutgers, #18/15 South Carolina, #10/11 Georgia, Missouri, Florida and Auburn during that spree. That streak is the team’s longest of the season and matches last year’s seven-game run of wins from a Senior Day triumph over Florida on Feb. 26 until the Elite Eight loss to Baylor on March 26. Alabama comes to town after losing three out of its past four games after standing 10-3 on Dec. 30. The Crimson Tide began SEC play at 0-3 before the win over the Rebels last weekend, dropping a road contest at No. 24 Texas A&M and falling to No. 6 Kentucky and No. 13 Georgia in Tuscaloosa. Alabama sports a 4-2 mark on the road this season, losing only at Wisconsin (69-50) and at No. 24 Texas A&M (91-52). Tennessee owns an 8-1 record at home this season, with its only loss coming at the hands of (then) No. 1 Stanford, 73-60, on Dec. 22. Tennessee was the SEC runner-up a year ago (27-9/12-4 SEC) and was picked to finish fourth this season by the media and fifth by the coaches. Alabama finished in a tie for 11th in the SEC last season (12-19/2-14) and was predicted to place 14th in the 2012-13 league standings by the media and in a tie for 12th by the coaches.
