GAME 16 SET-UP #9/9 Tennessee (12-3/3-0 SEC) and Florida (13-4/2-1 SEC) will meet for the 48th time, facing off Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Eastern time in an early game that will be televised live on ESPNU and available on WatchESPN.com. Tennessee is coming off a dominant 8439 home win over Missouri on Thursday night that kept UT unbeaten in league play at 3-0. The Gators improved to 2-1 in the conference with a 61-55 triumph over Mississippi State in Starkville on Thursday evening. The Lady Vols enter Sunday’s contest on a five-game winning streak, defeating Davidson, #NR/RV Rutgers, #18/15 South Carolina and #10/11 Georgia and Missouri during that spree. Florida has won two in a row, knocking off LSU in Gainesville, 77-72, on Jan. 6 and claiming a 61-55 victory over Mississippi State in Starkville on Thursday night. Florida is 9-0 at home this season, while Tennessee is 4-2 in road games. UT and UF thus far have not played any common opponents. Tennessee was the SEC runner-up a year ago (27-9/12-4 SEC) and was picked to finish fourth this season by the media and fifth by the coaches. Florida finished eighth in the SEC last season (20-13/8-8) and was predicted to place ninth by the media and eighth by the coaches in the SEC race this season.
“WE BACK PAT” WEEK The SEC, in cooperation with its 14 member institutions, announces the second “We Back Pat” Week, a week-long initiative focused on bringing awareness and recognition to the Pat Summitt Foundation Fund, a fund of East Tennessee Foundation, and its fight against Alzheimer’s disease. During the week of January 13-20, SEC member institutions will support the Pat Summitt Foundation Fund during their home basketball games. Various efforts will be made to increase awareness of the Pat Summitt Foundation Fund. The Pat Summitt Foundation was launched on Nov. 27, 2011, by Pat Summitt and her son, Tyler, after her diagnosis of early onset dementia, Alzheimer’s type at the age of 59. Tennessee will play in three games this week that are designated as “We Back Pat” games. Those contests include the Lady Vols at Florida on Jan. 13 (11:30 a.m. ET), at Auburn on Jan. 17 (8 p.m. CT) and home vs. Alabama on
