GAME 29 SET-UP #8/8 Tennessee (23-5/14-1 SEC) and #10/10 Kentucky (24-4/12-3 SEC) meet on Sunday at 3:35 p.m. ET at Memorial Coliseum. It will mark the 58th meeting between the Lady Vols and Wildcats. This match-up features the top two scoring teams in the SEC this season, with UT ranking fourth in the nation at 78.8 points per game and UK standing No. 6 at 77.3 points per contest. The game will be televised on ESPNU and available on the WatchESPN.com app. The contest also will be broadcast on Sirius/XM Radio on Sirius 123 / XM 199. UT is coming off a huge win on Senior Night in Knoxville on Thursday, defeating #13/15 Texas A&M, 82-72, to win the program’s 17th overall SEC regular season championship. Tennessee now has won its last six games since being upset by hot-shooting Missouri in Columbia, 80-63, on Feb. 3. The Big Orange women have triumphed in 18 of their last 19 games vs. SEC foes, dating back to last season, including nine in a row at home and eight of the last nine on the road. Kentucky has won four of its last five games after blitzing Ole Miss, 90-65, Thursday night in Oxford. UK has played five of its last six games and six of its last nine contests on the road this season. Kentucky is 15-1 at home and 9-3 on the road. The Wildcats’ only home loss was a 75-71 setback to #14/13 Georgia on Feb. 3. Tennessee finished the regular season with a 14-2 record at Thompson-Boling Arena this season, including 8-0 in league play. Tennessee was the SEC runner-up a year ago (27-9/12-4 SEC) and postseason tournament champion. The Lady Vols were picked to finish fourth this season by the media and fifth by the coaches. Kentucky was the 2012 SEC regular season champion (28-7/13-3) and was predicted to repeat as victors by both the media and coaches this year. Tennessee is 480-71 (.871) all-time vs. schools who are current members of the Southeastern Conference, including 331-45 (.880) in the regular season.
REGULAR SEASON FINALES The Lady Vols enter the contest having won sixstraight regular-season finales. Tennessee last played a regular-season finale on the road in 2007-08, defeating Georgia, 72-63. UT has won its last four road finales, last dropping one in 1998-99 to LSU, 72-69. The Big Orange women closed out the 2002-03 campaign in Lexington with an 84-69 victory.
