GAME 12 SET-UP  #13/15 Tennessee (8-3) and NR/RV Rutgers (8-3) will meet for the 22nd time, facing off on Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern time in a game that will be carried live on SportSouth.  UT is one win away from the program’s 1,200th victory, entering the match-up with an NCAA-best 1,199-268 record (.817) in its 68th season.  After dropping consecutive games vs. No. 3/3 Baylor and No. 1/1 Stanford, the Lady Vols enter on the momentum of a 75-40 home win over Davidson on Friday night.  Standing 3-3 on Dec. 2 after back-to-back road losses to Princeton and Boston College, Rutgers won its fifth straight game (and most recent contest) on Dec. 21, handling Stony Brook, 72-44.  The UT women are 5-1 at home this season, the lone loss to #1/1 Stanford (73-60), on Dec. 22, while Rutgers is just 1-3 on the road with the sole victory coming at Temple (6650) on Nov. 21.  This will mark Tennessee’s final non-conference game until Notre Dame on Jan. 28, as the Lady Vols embark on the always-difficult SEC gauntlet next week.  Rutgers will face LaSalle on Jan. 6 for its final non-conference tussle prior to the BIG EAST schedule.

SERIES SUMMARY  The Lady Vols carry an eight-game series winning streak into the contest, last falling to the Scarlet Knights in Piscataway, N.J., 65-51, on Dec. 29, 2004.  The last time these teams met, #6/6 Tennessee came away with a 67-61 road win over #11/11 Rutgers on Dec. 13, 2011.  Home court has been crucial in this rivalry, with Tennessee maintaining a perfect 6-0 mark in front of its fans while standing just 3-3 when playing RU in its lair.  The squad from Rocky Top is 2-0 vs. Rutgers on this date, winning by large margins of 87-51 in Knoxville on Dec. 30, 2010, and 9353 in the Bell Atlantic-Rutgers Invitational on Dec. 30, 1988.  These teams have met seven times in the postseason, with Tennessee fortunate enough to hold a 7-0 advantage in those meetings.  The last postseason match-up was for the 2007 NCAA title, as #3/4 Tennessee dispatched #15/18 Rutgers, 59-46, in Cleveland on April 3 for its seventh crown and first of back-to-back championships during the Candace Parker era.  The Big Orange women also toppled the
