GAME 28 SET-UP #8/8 Tennessee (22-5/13-1 SEC) and #13/15 Texas A&M (21-7/11-3 SEC) meet on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. ET at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tenn. This marks only the third time these programs have gotten together. The game will be televised on CSS, and ESPN3 will provide online coverage. The Lady Vols have clinched at least a share of their 17th regular-season SEC championship, but they could win it outright with a victory Thursday night vs. A&M or a win Sunday at #10/10 Kentucky. Texas A&M, Kentucky and Georgia are tied for second place in the SEC with identical 11-3 records in league play. UT is coming off a victory at Arkansas on Sunday, where the Big Orange overcame an 11-point deficit to win their fifth game in a row (60-54). Tennessee now has triumphed in 17 of its last 18 games vs. SEC foes, dating back to last season, including eight in a row at home and eight of its last nine on the road. Texas A&M, meanwhile, has dropped two of its last three contests, including a 61-51 setback at Vanderbilt on Sunday. The Aggies boast one of the nation’s top players in 6-4 junior Kelsey Bone, who is averaging 17.6 points and 9.9 rebounds. Tennessee has built a 13-2 record at Thompson-Boling Arena this season, including 7-0 in league play. A&M is 6-3 on the road in 2012-13, including a 5-2 record in league games. Tennessee was the SEC runner-up a year ago (27-9/12-4 SEC) and was picked to finish fourth this season by the media and fifth by the coaches. Texas A&M finished in a tie for second in the Big 12 last season (24-11/11-7) and was predicted to place fifth by the media and third by the coaches in the SEC race this season. Tennessee is 479-71 (.871) all-time vs. schools who are current members of the Southeastern Conference, including 330-45 (.880) in the regular season.
