GAME 27 SET-UP The #10/10 Lady Vols (21-5/10-3 SEC) begin a two-game road swing with a stop in Columbia, Mo., on Sunday, where they’ll take on the Missouri Tigers (16-10/5-8 SEC) at Mizzou Arena. Tennessee and Mizzou are slated to tip off at 1:04 p.m. CT/2:04 p.m. ET, and the game will be carried live on SEC TV. Cara Capuano and Nell Fortner will call the action, and the game also will be streamed live via ESPN3 (the game may be blacked out in some areas). UT is coming off a 30-point home win over Auburn on Thursday night, when the Lady Vols led wire-to-wire in defeating the Tigers, 93-63. That margin of victory was UT’s largest of the season vs. an SEC foe, eclipsing the previous best of 28 vs. Vanderbilt on Feb. 10. UT senior guard Meighan Simmons continued her torrid streak vs. Auburn, hitting for 26 points and carding her third-straight game of 20 or more points vs. the Tigers. During the current season, Simmons has scored 20 or more points in three of the past four games and in six of the last nine. Junior center Isabelle Harrison continued an impressive spree of her own, scoring in double figures for the 20th-straight game, and she posted her 13th double-double of the season. Tennessee has won seven of its last eight contests, while Mizzou has claimed two in a row on the road after suffering through a three-game losing streak. The Tigers were victorious at Auburn on Feb. 16, 68-58, and dropped Florida in Gainesville on Thursday night, 81-76. MU is 10-4 at home this season with wins over Georgia and Vanderbilt at Mizzou Arena. The Lady Vols have a 7-2 mark away from Knoxville in 2013-14, with the setback at Vanderbilt on Jan. 12 standing as the only SEC loss on the road in six tries. The other “away” loss by UT was at Stanford on Dec. 21. Tennessee remains in third place in the league standings with a 10-3 record, while Mizzou is tied with Alabama and Auburn for ninth at 5-8. In league play, Tennessee ranks No. 1 in per game scoring (77.5), and Mizzou is No. 10 in points allowed (69.2). MU has hit 115 threes this season in SEC play to rank No. 1 at 8.8 per game, while Tennessee is No. 6 with 68 for a 5.2 average. In terms of accuracy in SEC play, UT hits threes at a .405 clip to rank No. 2, while the Tigers are No. 4 at .372. The Lady Vols are currently in a fourgame run of games against feline mascots. UT has played Kentucky (Wildcats) and Auburn (Tigers) and awaits tussles with Missouri (Tigers) and LSU (Lady Tigers).
