GAME 18 SET-UP #6/6 Tennessee (15-2, 5-0 SEC) plays its third consecutive road game and fourth in five contests, traveling to Notre Dame, Ind., to take on the #7/7 Fighting Irish (16-2/4-1 ACC) at Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center on Monday at 7 p.m. This is the 25th meeting between these schools, with UT holding a 20-4 record in the series and an 8-1 mark at Notre Dame but the Irish winning the last four match-ups. The game will be televised by ESPN2, with Beth Mowins and Stephanie White on hand to call the action. The contest also can be seen online via WatchESPN. A “Watch Live” link can be found on the Lady Vol Hoops Central page on UTSports.com. Mickey Dearstone’s Lady Vol Network call can be heard on the radio on network stations statewide in Tennessee and via audio stream worldwide on UTSports.com. Dearstone’s broadcast also will be carried on Sirius 93 and XM 190 on satellite radio. The Lady Vols enter the contest riding an 11-game winning streak after navigating Auburn’s press and traps and taking down the Tigers, 54-42, on the road Thursday night. It marked the 13th time this season in 17 games the Big Orange women had held an opponent to 53 or fewer points. Tennessee has not lost since dropping back-to-back road games at Chattanooga (67-63) on Nov. 26 and #6/9 Texas (72-59) on Nov. 30, without Isabelle Harrison. The Lady Vols have won a league-best 12 consecutive contests over SEC opponents, beginning vs. Auburn (W, 93-63) in Knoxville on Feb. 20, 2014. The 5-0 league start this season leaves the Big Orange women in a tie with South Carolina atop the SEC standings, entering the weekend’s games (USC plays Sunday) as the only remaining unbeaten teams in conference play. Notre Dame is coming off an 89-79 ACC win over #13/13 North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Thursday night, with Brianna Turner and Lindsay Allen combining for 53 points to lead the attack. With that win, the Irish have claimed victories in their last two contests and in seven of their last nine games. Tennessee and Notre Dame have one common opponent this season, and the Irish tamed Chattanooga at home on Nov. 21, 88-53, while UT fell on the road to the Lady Mocs, 67-63, on Nov. 26. Notre Dame began the season ranked #3/3 and climbed to #2/2 at 8-0 before falling at home to #3/3 UConn, 76-58, on Dec. 6. ND also lost to Miami (Fla.), 78-63, in Coral Gables on Jan. 8 as the nation’s #4/4 team.
