GAME 24 SET-UP #6/6 Tennessee (20-3, 10-0 SEC) plays its second straight game on the road, as the Lady Vols roll into Oxford, Miss., for a 6 p.m. Central/7 p.m. Eastern contest Thursday at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum. Thursday night’s meeting will be the 50th between the schools, with UT winning the last 26 encounters and forging an 18-3 mark in contests played at the “Tad Pad.” Tennessee, victorious in its past five games and in 16 of its last 17, will put a league-best 17-game winning streak against SEC foes on the line. That spree began vs. Auburn on Feb. 20, 2014. UT is facing its second straight unranked opponent and only its second foe with a winning percentage of .500 or less in SEC play. The Lady Vols have fashioned a 7-2 mark vs. ranked teams in 2014-15, including 4-2 vs. top-10 teams. They are 13-1 vs. unranked opponents, with the lone loss coming at Chattanooga (67-63 on Nov. 26), a team that now is ranked #21 in the AP poll. The game will be an online broadcast carried by SEC Network+, with Will Kollmeyer and former Rebel standout Armintie (Price) Herrington on hand to call the action. The contest also can be seen online via WatchESPN. A “Watch Live” link can be found on the LadyVol Hoops Central page on UTSports.com. Mickey Dearstone’s Lady Vol Network call can be heard on the radio on network stations statewide in Tennessee and via audio stream worldwide on UTSports.com. Tennessee comes into Thursday’s game on the momentum of a 64-56 win over Florida in Gainesville on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Vols trailed by two at the half (30-28) and by five (36-31) in the second stanza before going on an 11-0 run to win their 11th straight over the Gators. Playing from behind is something Tennessee has been accustomed to this season, as the Lady Vols have trailed in 18 of 23 contests, including eight times at the intermission and 10 occasions in the second half. Isabelle Harrison shrugged off foul trouble to tally 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting and added seven boards and two blocks in only 17 minutes to pace Tennessee vs. UF. Ole Miss, meanwhile, was off on Sunday, but the Rebels enter the UT game on a fivegame losing skid, dropping a 58-54 heartbreaker at Vanderbilt on Jan. 5. It was a game UM led, 22-16, at the break, but the Commodores outscored the Rebels in the final 20 minutes, 42-32, in a contest that featured 48 fouls. A much-improved team this season, Ole Miss stood 14-4 prior to its losing streak and has a win over a ranked Georgia squad.
