GAME 15 SET-UP #7/9 Tennessee (12-2, 2-0 SEC) plays host to another undefeated team in league play, as #9/8 Texas A&M (14-2, 2-0 SEC) comes to Thompson-Boling Arena for a Thursday night showdown at 7 p.m. ET. This is the seventh meeting between these schools, with UT holding a 5-1 record in the series and a 1-0 mark in Knoxville. The game will be televised on the SEC Network, with Paul Sunderland and Carolyn Peck on hand to call the action and Steffi Sorensen providing sideline reports. Mickey Dearstone’s Lady Vol Network call can be heard on the radio on network stations statewide in Tennessee and via audio stream worldwide on UTSports.com. The Lady Vols bring an eight-game winning streak into Thursday night’s match-up after going on the road and securing a 5749 win over Vanderbilt at Memorial Gym on Monday night. Tennessee has not lost since dropping back-to-back road games at Chattanooga (67-63) on Nov. 26 and #6/9 Texas (72-59) on Nov. 30. Tennessee has been victorious in 13 straight games at Thompson-Boling Arena, including nine in a row this season. The Lady Vols also have won nine-consecutive contests over SEC opponents, dating back to last season. Texas A&M brings its own streak into Thursday’s tussle with Tennessee, winning its last three after dropping back-to-back contests vs. #3/3 Texas (67-65) and Washington (70-49) on Dec. 21 and 29, respectively. On Sunday, the Aggies went on the road to Arkansas and escaped with a narrow, 5250 victory over the Razorbacks to remain unscathed in league play at 2-0. Prior to that, A&M defeated UT’s last opponent, Vanderbilt, at home on Jan. 2, 75-61.
ANOTHER TOP-10 FOE FOR UT Tennessee will face its fourth top-10 opponent of the season when #9/8 Texas A&M comes to town. UT is 2-1 vs. top-10 foes this season, including 2-0 at home and 0-1 on the road. The Lady Vols defeated #7/7 Stanford and #10/12 Oregon State at home on Dec. 20 (59-40) and Dec. 28 (74-63) and fell to #6/9 Texas on the road (72-59) on Nov. 30 while Isabelle Harrison was out with a knee injury.
