It’s been another banner year for the University of Utah College of Engineering. The U has accepted an invitation to join the Pac-10 conference. Such recognition distinguishes the entire University, and the College of Engineering joins the University in celebrating this milestone. Despite a challenging economy, the College of Engineering is achieving growth with quality in many areas. We are now graduating 76% more engineers and computer scientists than we did 10 years ago. And we are now 41st in the nation in engineering research expenditures, according to ASEE. We are pleased to issue the new 2010 research report, which highlights some of the exciting research initiatives of engineering faculty. We hope it provides you with insights into the culture of opportunity, collaboration and discovery at the College of Engineering. We look forward to the future as one of the fastest growing engineering programs in the nation.
