Utah Risk Map Product Catalog
Risk Map Products Risk MAP products go beyond the basic regulatory flood hazard information. They provide the means to conduct a more thorough and user-friendly analysis of flood risk. They allow communities to make informed decision about reducing flood loss and mitigting potential damage from floods. And they can also be used to create effective communication tools to better inform property owners, emergency management officials, community planners and developers, real estate and insurance specialists. Note that the non-regulatory products described here are only avalable in areas with completed Risk MAP projects.

Flood Insurance Rate Map A Flood Insurance Rate Map is the official map of a community that shows special flood hazard areas (SFHA) and the risk premium zones applicable to a community. A FIRM has undergone formal due-process and is published as the legal document for flood insurance rates and floodplain management. This is a Regulatory product. For more infromation go to
Flood Insurance Study or FIS A Flood Insurance Study Report is a compilation and presentation of flood risk data for specific watercourses, lakes and coastal flood hazard areas within a community. When a flood study is completed for the National Flood Insurance Program, the information and maps are assembled into an Flood Insurance Study. The FIS report contains detailed flood elevation data in flood profiles and data tables. This is a regulatory product For more infromation go to
Areas of Mitigation Interest (AoMI) Areas of Mitigation Interest (AoMI) communicates where conditions have contributed to the severity of flooding losses, allowing for better prioritization of flood mitigation efforts and use of funds This is a non-regulatory product. For more information go to:

Flood Depth and Analysis Grids Flood Depth and Analysis Grids communicate the depth and velocity of floodwaters as well as the probability of an area being flooded over time. This is a non-regulatory product. For more infromation go to https://www.fema.gov/floodmaps/tools-resources/risk-map/products
Flood Elevation in Feet
Water Surface Elevation Grid
WSEL grids illustrate the flood elevation (in feet) in the 10-percent, 4-percent, 2-percent, 1-percent, 0.2-percent and 1-percent plus annual-chance floodplains. WSEL Grids can be used to estimate BFEs in a Zone A. This is a non-regulatory product. Percent 30-Year Chance Grid
The Percent Chance of Flooding over a 30-year Period grid represents the percent chance of flooding at least one time during a 30-year period for a given cell, or location, within the mapped floodplain. Other time periods may also be selected and the likelihood can be computed for other floodplain management and risk assessment/communication applications. This is a non-regulatory product. Changes Since Last Firm
This dataset identifies changes in the horizontal extent of the regulatory floodway, 1-percent-annual-chance floodplain, and 0.2-percent-annual-chance floodplain. CSLF is created by comparing the current effective flood zones with the new/revised flood zones. This is a non-regulatory product. For more infromation go to https://www.fema.gov/ sites/default/files/documents/fema_changes-since-lastfirm-technical.pdf
FIRM Database The Flood Risk Database holds the product data created through the Risk MAP program for a specific project. It contains geographically explicit datasets that you can view and analyze on a GIS platform. This is a regulatory product. For more information go to:
