Speakers First Lady Abby Cox Abby Palmer Cox became Utah’s first lady when her husband Spencer J. Cox was sworn in as governor on January 4, 2021. As Utah’s first lady, Abby hopes to inspire Utahns to break down barriers that separate people from treating one another as equals. She is an outspoken advocate for “getting proximate,” connecting through our differences, and combating the empathy crisis our country is facing. Abby’s initiative is called “Show Up,” and she uses her platform to convene, contribute to, and champion projects related to social and emotional learning, statewide service, foster care awareness, and sporting opportunities for children who live with physical or intellectual disabilities.
Chaitali Patel, MBA Chaitali Patel is Chief Impact Officer at 100 Women in Finance, a global association of women executives in asset management with 27 locations worldwide. Chaitali is a highly reputable social impact, finance, and fintech executive. Prior to joining 100 Women in Finance, she founded Evergood, an ESG, and sustainability consulting firm. In addition, she led the B2B finance arm of Foundation Group, a New York-based financial technology firm, as head of Catalyst Solutions. Her fifteen-plus years in the sector included extensive experience with business strategy, product management, bank operations, channel management, and financial reporting.
Alison Flynn Gaffney MHA, FACHE Alison Flynn Gaffney has been a healthcare industry leader for over three decades. Throughout her career, Alison has advocated for empowering female and diverse leaders. She is passionate about equity in the workplace. Alison Flynn Gaffney currently serves as the interim chief operating officer at University of Utah Health Hospitals and Clinics (UUHC) and executive director of University Hospital and is responsible for the UUHC Services Lines and System Planning. Previously, Alison was the executive director responsible for the UUHC Perioperative, Imaging, Lab, and Ancillary Services. Alison has been with the University of Utah Health since 2017.

Vice President at Success in Education Foundation and Women Who Succeed Erin Trenbeath-Murray is the Vice President for the Success in Education Foundation and Women Who Succeed. She is also the Executive Director of the Robert H. and Katharine B. Garff Foundation. The mission of Success in Education is to provide Utah students with a pathway to college or careers. Within the foundation, she launched a new initiative this year called Women Who Succeed, whose purpose is to provide opportunities for girls and young women to grow confidence.
Nicole Mouskondis, MA
Co-CEO of Nicholas & Company, Inc. Nicole Mouskondis currently serves as the Co-CEO of Nicholas & Company, Inc., a third-generation family-owned and operated broadline foodservice distribution company servicing customers in the Intermountain West. Nicole graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Behavioral Science and Health and received a master’s degree in strategic communication and leadership (MASCL) from Seton Hall University.
Crystal Maggelet, MBA
CEO of FJ Management Inc. Crystal Call Maggelet is the CEO of FJ Management Inc., a diversified family business that includes wholly-owned subsidiaries: Maverik, a 360 c-store chain, and Big West Oil, a petroleum refinery. FJ Management also has a minority stake in Pilot Flying J. Other family businesses include TAB Bank, a community bank, and Crystal Inn, a small chain of hotels. In addition, she actively manages the family’s charitable giving through the FJM Impact Fund, which focuses mostly on education and scholarships.
Jacki Zehner
Founder of ShePlace Jacki Zehner describes herself as a financial feminist. The latest Global Gender Gap Report states it will take over 135 years to reach gender parity at the current rate of change, and for Jacki, that’s completely unacceptable. As the founder of ShePlace, she plans to bring decades of experience championing the advancement of women and girls under one umbrella. Jacki learned a lot about finance at Goldman Sachs, where she became the youngest woman and first female trader to make partner.
