Students need to reserve their spot in an orientation session in order to register for classes. You may do so by completing the online registration form on the orientation website.
APPLY FOR HOUSING FEBRUARY 1
Application for fall 2022 will be available for accepted students at utc.edu/housing. Students can complete the incoming transfer application and pay the $25 application fee. We encourage you to complete your housing application as soon as you are admitted to UTC as assignments are based on your application completion date as well as matching you with the most compatible building and roommates possible.
APRIL
Assignments will take place starting in late April and continue through the summer. Room assignments are primarily based on the housing application completion date. For full details, visit utc. edu/housing and make sure to read the Guide for 2022 Incoming Transfers.
QUALIFY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS DEADLINE FOR FALL 2022: JULY 1, 2022
Students wanting to be considered for scholarships (institutional or endowed funds) must complete their admission file by June 1, 2022. Accepted students must then complete a separate online scholarship application through their MyMocsNet account. The deadline to complete the scholarship application is July 1, 2022.

The 2022-2023 FAFSA is available on October 1, 2021. The FAFSA is the application for all state and federal financial aid, including the HOPE scholarship. Make sure the FAFSA and all requested documents are submitted by the priority date to ensure your aid is processed by the fee payment deadline. Financial aid awards are offered and accepted through your MyMocsNet account.

TRANSFER SCHOLARS The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is excited to offer a transfer scholarship for prospective students. Funds in the amount of $2,000 per year will be awarded to the most academically deserving students who wish to complete a bachelor’s degree at UTC.
Minimum Criteria to Qualify
• 3.25 cumulative grade point average and associate’s degree or 60 college-level earned semester hours (associate degrees must be an AA, AS, or AST to qualify). • Students must complete their admission file by June 1, 2022. Accepted students must then complete a separate scholarship application through their MyMocsNet account by July 1, 2022.
Additional Criteria • The scholarship is renewable for up to three additional semesters after the initial award. Students must maintain a 3.0 minimum cumulative grade point average at UTC and complete 24 semester hours each year, including developmental courses, to renew the award. • These scholarship funds may be stacked with the Tennessee Lottery Scholarship program. • Students receiving the Regional Tuition and Border State Discounts may also receive this scholarship. • Students must enroll at full-time student status (minimum of 12 hours per semester) for fall and spring.
ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS utc.edu/scholarships These awards are generously provided to UTC students through outside donors. There are many scholarship opportunities available based on various criteria such as financial need, major, grade point average and community or campus-based activities.
DEPARTMENTAL SCHOLARSHIPS utc.edu/scholarships Colleges and academic departments award scholarships to incoming students and may require a separate application process. Be sure to read the scholarship details carefully regarding application procedures and deadlines. Remember to also complete the UTC online scholarship application. Students must be fully admitted to the University before completing the UTC online scholarship application through their MyMocsNet account.

Transfer students can use their HOPE scholarship at UTC. Make certain final transcripts (college AND high school) are sent to the Admissions Office. Then, confirm that the school of choice for the HOPE Scholarship is UTC. Finally, you should identify yourself with the UTC Scholarship Office as a transfer student and HOPE Scholarship recipient. FOR STUDENTS WHO FIRST RECEIVED THE HOPE SCHOLARSHIP IN FALL 2009 AND THEREAFTER • The student must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA at the end of the semester in which the student attempted 24 and 48 semester hours. • The student must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of the semester in which the student attempted 72, 96, and 120 semester hours. • If the student does not have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of the semester in which the student attempted 72, 96, and 120 semester hours, then the student must: Have a minimum 2.75-2.99 cumulative GPA and have a semester GPA of at least 3.0 at the end of the semester in which the student attempted 72, 96, and 120 semester hours. The student’s continued eligibility will be determined on a semester-by-semester basis and must maintain full-time enrollment. • If a student ceases to be academically eligible for the HOPE Scholarship, the student may regain the award one time only. The award may be re-established once the student meets any of the above criteria and maintains continuous enrollment and satisfactory academic progress at an eligible post-secondary institution without the HOPE Scholarship. • Must be continuously enrolled at an eligible postsecondary institution in the fall and spring semesters and maintain satisfactory academic progress.

The 2022-23 FAFSA opens October 1, 2021. You will use your 2020 tax information to complete it. File early for maximum awards. Through federal, state and University financial programs, a student may receive one or more different types of assistance to cover educational costs. UTC awards more than $100 million in financial aid to 75 percent of our student body. There are four basic types of financial aid for UTC students: scholarships, grants, loans and part-time employment. These are awarded individually or in combination, depending on the student’s financial need.

HONORS COLLEGE
Innovations In Honors Innovations in Honors Program (IIH): A problem-based learning experience designed for students in their second and third year to develop critical thinking, applied creativity and collaborative leadership. To be considered, an applicant must have a minimum of 3.2 GPA and 24 graded college credit hours (this does not include Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) hours). Out-of-State students who have been members of an honors program or college at another institution are eligible for an outof-state tuition waiver if they apply and meet the admissions requirements for Innovations in Honors. We currently have active articulation agreements with Chattanooga State Community College Global Scholars Program, Motlow State Community College Honors Program, Cleveland State Community College Honors Program, and Hillsborough Community College. PRIOR LEARNING CREDIT Students can receive college credit for college-level learning gained outside the traditional classroom environment. Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) credit may include competency examinations, employer training programs, military service and other learning experiences. Students may earn up to 60 credit hours of PLA credit, with no more than 24 credit hours of any one type of PLA credit. The credit may satisfy general education, major or minor requirements or be granted as elective credit. Charts that show actual credit received can be found at utc.edu/ admissions/forms.php. The process for awarding credit will vary with the type of PLA credit the student is seeking. • AP, IB, CLEP, Cambridge, Military/ACE and DSST: Official score reports or transcripts must be sent from the testing agency or institution directly to the Admissions Office at UTC. • Credit by Special Examination: These challenge exams are administered in the relevant academic department and must be arranged by the student; the student must pay fees for any credit awarded. • Portfolio Credit: Evidence of acquired college-level learning must be provided by the student; evidence may include certificates, training program information and other materials developed under the guidance of a faculty member or advisor. • Transfer Credit: An official transcript from the originating institution must be sent to the Admissions Office.
