Convenient Family Medical Care The Family Health Center, located on the campus of UT Health Northeast, is a patient-centered family medical home staffed by expert physicians who specialize in caring for patients of all ages – from newborns to seniors. Our Family Health Center offers comprehensive and coordinated care for you and every member of your family. As your medical home, the Family Health Center’s board-certified Family Medicine faculty physicians, resident physicians, and adolescent and pediatric physicians have the experience and knowledge to treat a wide variety of health conditions. And as the coordinator of your care, we will provide doctors’ appointments in our Family Health Center with after-hours availability, referrals to specialists and other facilities if needed, a Level IV Emergency Room open 24/7, and our University Hospital. Additionally, education and self-care management support will be provided for preventive, acute, chronic, and routine care. You will also have 24/7 access to health information that is evidence-based using the Watson W. Wise Medical Research Library at UT Health Northeast. Friendly and Kind Pediatric Care Our goal is to put the health needs of your child first. We know how important it is to provide a friendly and non-threatening setting where your child can feel as comfortable as possible – so please don’t be surprised if we greet your child first! If your child is sick and you are concerned about whether or not your child needs to be seen – please call us first. We will help you decide when to bring your child in to see the doctor. As always, if you feel your child has an emergent condition, don’t hesitate to bring your child to the ER. Our newborn and well-child care includes immunizations, assessment of growth and development, vision/hearing screening, lead and anemia screening, school physicals, and more. In addition, we care for fragile children, and provide management of chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, obesity, and special needs, as well as behavioral, developmental, and emotional issues.

Sports Medicine and Physicals
If you are planning on traveling internationally this year, consider a visit to the Family Health Center’s Travel Medicine Clinic. Travel medicine services include physical assessments, country- or region-specific immunizations, and follow-up exams.
We work with a number of local school districts to coordinate the routine sports physicals that are required in order for your child to participate in school sports. In addition, you can schedule an individual appointment in the Family Health Center. Athletic injuries will be assessed, treated, and/or referred by a physician trained in this area.
Aviation Physicals The Family Medicine Center is home to one of only a few Senior Aviation Medical Examiners in our region certified to perform Federal Aviation Administration Class 1, 2, and 3 aviation medicine physicals.

Affordable Onsite Pharmacy As the only university medical center in our region, our patients can take advantage of our buying power. No other local pharmacy can buy or sell medications cheaper than we can. For prescriptions written by a UT Health physician or mid-level provider on our main campus (Hwy. 271 @ Hwy. 155), we can take care of your refills, transfers, new prescriptions, and compounding. We can also mail your prescriptions to you, and our pharmacists are here when you have a question or concern about your medications. Our Patient-CenterED Family Medical Home is Committed to You. • We will identify, plan, and manage your care using a trained and committed medical care team. • You will be given the opportunity to select your doctor or other care providers. • We will provide routine and urgent care as well as medical advice during routine office hours. • We will provide after-hours access to meet your healthcare needs. • We will provide education, self-care advice, and information about community resources. • We will provide you with electronic access to your medical information. • We will coordinate your care and help you with scheduling referrals, tests, procedures, and follow-up support. • We will recommend preventive, routine, and chronic-condition care using treatment choices that are known to work best based on current medical knowledge (called evidence-based care). • Our care will be compassionate using cultural sensitivity and your preferred language. • We will ask for feedback from our patients, family members, and others to help us improve the care and services we provide.

Our Fast and Kind Emergency Room is open when you need us. Our emergency-trained physicians and nurses stand ready to provide stabilization and treatment of life-threatening conditions and immediate treatment of major or minor illness or injury.

Family Medicine Residency Program Our Family Medicine Residency Program is the only one of its kind in Northeast Texas and ranks among the top programs in Texas. Graduate physicians from leading accredited medical schools in the United States work alongside our Family Medicine faculty physicians and staff in caring for our patients, rounding out the Family Health Center’s concept of team care.
The Family Health Center is located on the second floor of The Riter Center. We offer FREE valet parking at the entrance to The Riter Center. You will be greeted by friendly staff that will safely park your car in a secure area and return it to you when you are ready to leave.
