Dr. Burns served as the Chair of the Department of Surgery at the UT Health Science Center’s College of Medicine – Chattanooga for 46 years. This initiative will ensure that the Department of Surgery in Chattanooga strategically honors and amplifies Dr. Burns’ legacy of extraordinary commitment to surgical training and patient care excellence indefinitely.
