COVID-19 LAB

930 MADISON PLAZA BUILDING, 5TH FLOOR During the current global coronavirus pandemic, facilities was called upon to set up a COVID-19 lab. A huge thank you to the facilities team members who helped with setting up the lab. Dr. Kennard Brown and the researchers were appreciative and complimentary of the facilities team efforts to make it all happen. Most importantly, they should all be proud, as this is a great example of the intricate role they played in impacting the Campus and the Mid-South Community at large. A special thank you to Jasmine Beale, Camron Perry, and Gregory Scott as well as our electrical carpet and paint departments.. They all had a hand in the project and had respectful positive attitudes. Below are a few of the pictures taken during the lab set-up.

COVID-19 PHISHING ATTACKS Written by Mary Madeksho, IT

There continues to be a rise in phishing attacks and social engineering schemes using everyone’s concern about COVID-19. Fake COVID-19 websites are everywhere, with the intent of downloading malware if you visit them. Be alert to people that contact you posing as staff looking to gain access to our network. If in doubt, error on the side of caution and safety. Report any suspicious communications to abuse@uthsc.edu. Employees should only visit reputable sites to get COVID-19 information. The best place to start is UTHSC’s own webpage: https://uthsc.edu/coronavirus/ Please stay aware and safe during these times!

ARCHIBUS SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS

CELEBRATION TIME!

The Archibus Building Operations Console has been evolving since implementation with an upgrade to the newer version, 24.1 coming soon. Continuous improvement for campus users as well as facilities crafts, is the main focus. We have included the yearly completion report for archibus work streams (see chart below). The goal with this report is to keep the supervisors and superintendents informed on the work progress for their respective teams. The report, pulled on a weekly and monthly basis, is an indication of the work requests that fall into several noted categories. The statuses of “assigned to work order”, “issued and in process” and completed”, are the most significant statuses. The percentages shown indicates how many tickets were completed out of total tickets received for that particular work team. To get a grasp on how the teams did for 2019, the report gives an idea of how well the teams are progressing with the Archibus system. Overall, the teams completed 94 percent of the total requests in Archibus for the 2019 calendar year. Way to go team!

FACILITIES BUSINESS OFFICE RENOVATION Spotlight Facilities Carpenters, Painters and flooring

The Facilities Business Office recently had a much needed make over. The office space was outdated and needed newer furniture, carpet, paint, lighting and repairs. Many of our crafts had a hand in improving the look of the space. It was done in phases with persons moving in or out of their office and working in other spaces within the building, to ensure the work was uninterrupted. It took a while and through the noise, it is now complete. Crafts working on the space were carpenters, painters, custodial, movers, electricians, and our floor guy. Great job everyone! Take a look at the pictures taken during the renovation.

TRIBUTE TO KENNETH J. BRADSHAW UTHSC - 46 YEAR EMPLOYEE

We are all mourning the loss and recent passing of Facilities Director, Kenneth J. Bradshaw. On March 6, family, friends and co-workers filled the SAC dining hall to celebrate his retirement. He worked at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center for 46 years, rising through the ranks from carpenter’s assistant to senior skilled carpenter to supervisor and ending his career retiring as the Director of Facilities Administration. Kenny really had a great time at the event and seemed to enjoy himself, being so happy in the company of people he had known so many years working for the university. His family including his wife, Beverly Watkins Bradshaw were in attendance. The pictures below are just a snapshot of the great time and many laughs shared on such a very special occasion for Mr. Bradshaw. He will be remembered most for his willingness to help others and being an inspiration for those coming up the ranks within the facilities department.

2) Attach the form to an Archibus work order request (link found at the bottom of each page of Facilities website) and bring to Facilities. We are located in the Physical Plant Building, room 224. Office hours are 8:00 - 11:30 am and 1:00 - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. For further assistance please call 901.448.4001.
