2019 DEFERRED COMPENSATION LIMITS ANNOUNCED! The IRS has confirmed the new contribution limits for 2019 deferred compensation which includes the 401k(pre-tax and Roth), 457 and 403b. Employees who are under age 50 are allowed an annual contribution up to $19,000 and employees age 50 or over are allowed an annual contribution of up to $25,000. If you wish to enroll or make changes to your contributions for 2019 please visit the Tax Deferred Annuities webpage for information and forms. It is recommended that you make your online changes or submit your forms to the Benefits office in early January to allow time for processing.

EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR AWARDS Demetriss Gilliam, compensation specialist and Jenna Mednikow, employee relations specialist, were both nominated for Employee of the Year Awards. Demetriss was nominated and won the Chancellor’s Exempt Staff Award and Jenna was nominated and one of the four Lichterman Award finalists. HR is very proud of our team members and happy that their hard work and dedication is recognized by their UTHSC colleagues and peers. Congratulations to them both!

KEEP YOUR INFORMATION UPDATED!

If you have had a recent change or will have a change in your personal information including, home address, phone number or emergency contact it is very important to update your employee record. If you do not have the correct information listed you are likely to miss information including new insurance cards, important updates from the University or State of Tennessee. How do you update your information? I’m glad you asked! There are two ways to update your information and it’s simple to do. The first options is completing a Personal Data Form. When completing this form, only include what you are changing. You will submit this form to the HR Records office in 910 Madison Ste. WP012, 1st fl. The second option is to change your information via Employee Self Service. Log into MyUT – select Employee SelfService folder – Select Personal information and then Personal Profile. You are able to update your address and phone number as well as your campus address. Once you save this information it updates IRIS almost immediately.

CHECK YOUR PAY STATEMENTS!

AWESOME BENEFITS FAIR!

To ensure the accuracy of your insurance and retirement elections including 401(k), 457 and 403(b), you are encouraged to review your December and January pay statements to verify if coverages and premiums are correct!

The Human Resources office would like to thank all of the employees and State insurance vendors for participating in the Employee Benefits Fair in September. There was an awesome turnout of 452 employees! According to numerous invited guests, UTHSC has one of the best benefits fairs and they look forward to attending each year. Thank you for helping us make it a success!

All employees have access to their online pay statement through the online payroll portal – irisweb.tennessee. edu/irj/portal/OnlinePayStatement. All current deductions will be found on the right side of the statement. Upon review, if any discrepancies are found, the Benefits Office will be glad to assist you with any questions and concerns regarding your benefits. Please contact the Benefits office for questions at 901.448.5601. If you need assistance with your Net ID and password to review your pay statement, link to UTHSC password management page: uthsc.edu/password.

UPDATED EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE FORMS The Benefits Office recently updated all Educational Assistance forms and ask these forms be used immediately. The new forms no longer require social security numbers but require that you list your personnel number and/or student ID. Student ID’s are assigned by the institution you are attending. Please click “New Forms” below to access the updated forms and to review the Educational Assistance policies and procedures. New Forms Important: Beginning in spring 2019 and you may be required to provide proof of relationship for dependents and spouses if requested. If documentation is required, the Educational Assistance will not be approved until the documentation is provided.
