First of all, you did it! Congratulations! World’s best cup of coffee. Great job, everybody! It’s great to meet you. (Buddy The Elf said this but I share the sentiment.)
Secondly, take a deep breath. You are here after being vetted, interviewed, judged, and chosen. You are meant to be here, and you will do great!
You are about to hear this often: “Be patient. They give you everything you need.” This is frustrating, right? And for good reason- you have been a leader in your former endeavors and triumphed over a tough curriculum to put yourself at the top of your class. You want to know the details and make sure you are ahead of the curve. You will not sit back and be patient! You must be on top!

El Salvador Hello! My name is Daltria Li. I’m from Clarksdale, MS, and I am a D3 here at UTHSC. I started attending CMDA, the Christian Medical Dental Association, on Wednesdays during my lunch break, which is how I first became exposed to medical mission trips. CMDA partners with GHO, the Global Health Organization that organizes trips for doctors and student doctors in third world countries. Since then, I have had the privilege of serving others in Nigeria after my first year of dental school. This past year, I traveled with CMDA/GHO to El Salvador in Central America. Our team of dentists and physicians ran a free clinic for five days for the people of El Salvador in the churches of
