ALTER EGO In simple words, Alter Ego refers to a person’s secondary or alternative personality. Thus, the transformation of a regular person into someone completely opposite to his usual personality in the same body is considered as the alter ego of a person. Acting like someone you aren’t is what alter ego is. It is expressing that second personality of yours, which normally you cannot express comfortably. This alter ego is characteristic, i.e., it is characterized by traits like manipulative, illogical, scary and psychopathic. This alter ego can result in mental illness and can cause the person to believe in things like paranormal and déjà vu. Also, this alter ego has been given various names like counterpart and substitute and is known to be the windows of a person’s mind.
