▶ Remote Learning
The University has established protocols for academic continuity, which includes courses having a Blackboard section to facilitate communication between students and instructors . To prepare for a possible disruption/campus closure, get familiar with the technologies highlighted in the checklist below should there be a need to move classes online . ▶ Student checklist and academic responsibilities during campus closures ▪ Check your UTMB email regularly for the latest updates (examples, not inclusive list): ▪ UTMB Broadcast Announcements ▪ Communications from your school Dean and/or Office of Academic and/or Student Affairs ▪ UTMB Office of Student Life and/or University Student Services ▪ Department Chair ▪ Course related: Faculty instructor and also Blackboard for messages ▶ UTMB students are automatically enrolled in the UTMB
Alerts (the University’s mass notification system), using basic directory information such as UTMB email and phone number . If you would like to verify your settings, visit UTMB Alerts ▶ Use MS Office 365 applications available to students . ▶ Students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with Microsoft Teams . ▶ In the event of a campus closure, students should expect that instructors will make changes to course syllabi . In some cases, instructors adjust courses for remote (online) instruction and assessment, over a short period of time . ▶ Carefully review course syllabi for updates and information from instructor(s) . Contact your instructor in a timely manner with questions or regarding any necessary accommodations . ▶ Please note that should there be a campus closure, students are expected to continue working on their coursework and education . ▶ Visit Information Services for help connecting remotely .
