Land Acknowledgement
We wish to acknowledge this land on which the University of Toronto operates. For thousands of years it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
Twenty years ago, I came to U of T Mississauga for the first time, knowing almost nobody on a campus far from home. I was nervous – until I got here. Here, I found a community that welcomed me with care and gave me a lift that’s changed my life.
I met professors who expanded my mind, mentors who grew my career, and friends who made a place for me to belong. The same thing has happened for so many of our students, professors, and 75,000 alumni from every province across Canada and 130 countries around the world.
Now, U of T Mississauga is here to open the same opportunities for you. Here, at one of the world’s leading universities, you’ll build knowledge and networks that can take you anywhere you want. You’ll also join a diverse global community to support you every step of the way.
So, I look forward to welcoming you in this community soon, especially because I know first-hand how much of a difference it can make.
