UTM's student population represents more than 110 countries. By providing groundbreaking programming and welcoming students from across the globe, we nurture cultural diversity and build global fluency.
The International Education Centre (IEC) is your first point of contact for international education support, including assistance with immigration and the University Health Insurance Plan. You can also attend internationally focused events and programs that allow you to meet others who share the same interests, provide peer-to-peer support, and get connected to our community.

Want to travel to Italy to learn about the history of food, or conduct field research in Cambodia? UTM Abroad offers a variety of academic and co-curricular experiences in several countries every year. You can also go on an exchange with one of our 120+ partner institutions in over 40 countries, all while earning credits towards your degree. We also offer specialized Global Scholar courses that allow you to acquire many of the insights and skills gained from learning abroad right here on our campus.
The Centre for Student Engagement offers you several opportunities to engage with our local community, while also investing in your personal growth, developing tangible skills, and meeting new people. Get involved with a community organization by joining a Social Innovation Project, and work with a team of students to come up with a solution for a challenge or problem within their organization. Become a Youth Mentor to offer support and encouragement to youth, and empower them to achieve both academic and personal goals.
