Nicole & Brian
We met in college at a school in Erie, Pennsylvania. From the beginning, we would take small weekend trips to different places to explore new areas. The summer of 2017, Nicole accepted an internship in NYC and Brian was staying in Erie to work. We decided before going our separate ways we would take a cross-country trip driving from Pennsylvania to Tennessee to Colorado and back, stopping in other places along the way. That trip tested our relationship (and our music preferences during 10+ hour car rides). Looking back, we always say that trip, even though we had been dating for nearly two years at the time, was the moment we truly knew how deep our love was for each other. Going to Glacier National Park for our special day continued our love for exploring, allowing us to mark off our tenth national park together.
Nicole’s dad grew up in Plentywood, MT and he would go to Flathead Lake every summer growing up. He always talked about taking a family trip to that side of Montana because, in his words, “it’s one place you can’t live your life not seeing.” When he unexpectedly passed away, we both knew we had to get married in Montana. We had to be surrounded by a place he loved. Walking down the aisle, looking at my friends and family with the mountains as the backdrop, we knew Nicole’s dad was smiling ear to ear knowing all of these people finally got to experience his happy place.
We also hosted a welcome party the day before the wedding with lots of local goodies (custom huckleberry jams, huckleberry gummies, etc.) to thank everyone for traveling so far for our special day!
Let Montana’s beauty be the centerpiece of your day; you don’t need much decor with a backdrop like Montana!
