A recital featuring music that seeks to remind us that what we see may only be a dream, a delusion, a reflection, a mirage… The program includes modern American composer Judith Cloud’s settings of “ancient” Italian songs and arias, songs by Stephen Sondheim, and Gabriel Fauré’s late masterpiece, Mirages, on poems by the baroness Renée de Brimont, composed immediately after the First World War: “Music singing to the ear of the poet, visions from before the torment; dreams and nostalgia, reflections or mirages of that which persists despite everything, and which brings us calm in Nature’s eternity.”
