CEID students can access two makerspaces equipped with industry standard technology to complete assigned work and explore their own research and designs.

World-Class Facilities
Klesse College is home to cuttingedge technologies and world-class facilities. From our Large Scale Testing Lab to our two makerspaces and newly opened 160,349 square foot Science and Engineering Building, Klesse College students regularly engage with and operate machines and apparatus that are commonly leveraged professionally.
The Large Scale Testing Facility allows to test real-size structural systems and has a dual crane with 30-ton capcity (think 5 large elephants) to load, unload and transport heavy specimens.
Hands-on Learning
Klesse College’s academic programs are developed with a focus on hands-on, experiential learning opportunities. You will venture outside of the classroom and apply acquired knowledge in real-world analogous situations that prepare you for an increasingly competitive employment market. UTSA is the flagship research university in San Antonio, the 7th largest city in the U.S. Our city is a national leader in military, health care and technology sectors and our rapidly expanding population sees unprecedented need for engineers and designed environment professionals. San Antonio is also home to some of the world’s best architecture, engineering and construction firms, large and small. INTERESTS
The INTERESTS initiative is a foundational part of each undergraduate program at Klesse College. Through INTERESTS, degree seeking students are required to complete one of the following signature experiences:

Your signature experience is an integral part in the process of applying knowledge acquired through academic classwork and developing marketable skills to chart your course towards a Bold Future. Students are welcome to complete more than one INTERESTS signature experience.

Academic Support
Klesse College’s academic programs are rigorous, but help is never far away. The SSC offers tutoring services and skill development workshops. Students in their first year at UTSA can also join a Focused Interest Group, a cohort of students who reside in the same residence hall and are registered for the same classes to develop study groups and personal bonds.

Students applying for admission to Klesse College programs must meet UTSA’s general admissions requirements and several programs have additional standards for direct admission. Students may be admitted to UTSA without being admitted directly to their academic program of choice.

Apply for Financial Aid & Scholarships
Roughly 70% of Roadrunners receive some form of financial aid (submit a FAFSA or TASFA to UTSA) annually through grants, loans, and work study funding. Additionally, qualified students will be automatically considered for Distinguished Scholarships if admitted by Jan 15. Additional scholarship opportunities can be found through UTSA’s Scholarship HUB.
