Now that you’ve been admitted, get Rowdy Ready!
Your first 3 things to take care of... Activate your MyUTSA ID You should already have your myUTSA ID after you applied to UTSA. If you did not activate your ID, please contact UTSA One Stop at 210-458-8000. You can also reset your passphrase at passphrase.utsa.edu.
Review your Checklist on ASAP We’ve built you a personalized Rowdy Ready checklist on our ASAP student portal that keeps track of your required items highlighted in this brochure. ASAP is also the place where you’ll be able to sign up for Orientation, review and accept your financial aid, register for classes and much more. On ASAP, click on the “Future Roadrunner” tab.
Review your Contact Information During your time here as a Roadrunner, UTSA will communicate to you via email or text. Once you sign up for Orientation, UTSA will start to email you at your university-issued UTSA email address. You can see and access your UTSA email inbox on the main menu page after you log into ASAP. Additional contact information can be found when you click on the “Personal Information” tab.
Check your status on ASAP Please note, when you complete a Rowdy Ready item, it can take up to 24 hours to update your Rowdy Ready checklist on ASAP.
Testing Requirements All New Students: Be TSI Complete The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is a Texas mandate required for all incoming students to be assessed in the areas of reading, writing and math. Unless you’ve met one of the exemption criteria, you must register to take the TSI with UTSA or if you’ve already taken it elsewhere, upload your TSI scores to UTSA. Visit future.utsa.edu/tsi for more details on how to upload your scores or register for the TSI.
Placement Requirements Based on Incoming Major: Pass the ALEKS Math placement Pass the ALEKS Chemistry placement Being able to take Calculus I and/or General Chemistry in your first semester is required for certain majors. Based on your incoming major, your Rowdy Ready checklist on ASAP will show whether you need to take and reach a certain mastery level for ALEKS Math and/or ALEKS Chemistry. Orientation Requirements All New Students: Sign up for Orientation Complete Orientation Orientation is designed to ensure a successful transition into life as a Roadrunner. As part of Orientation, you will meet with your academic advisor, register for your first semester classes, and learn about academic policies, student resources and campus transitions. The Orientation Sign Up System opens at specific dates based on your admitted term and student classification (freshman or transfer). You will be able to access the system by clicking on the “Future Roadrunner” tab in your ASAP student portal. UTSA also has an extra experiences, like an orientation option for your family! Advising Requirements All New Students: Complete Academic Advising As part of your Orientation experience, you will meet with your academic advisor to go over your first semester class schedule. More details about your advising appointment will be provided after you sign up for Orientation. Visit future.utsa.edu/advising for more details.
Health Requirements Students 21 or younger: Submit Meningitis Immunization Texas law states if you are 21 or younger, you’ll need to submit written proof to UTSA that you’ve received either the Meningitis vaccination or a booster dose within the last five years prior to enrollment. Visit future.utsa.edu/meningitis for more details.
Students 17 or younger: Submit Health Treatment Form If you’re 17 or younger by the first day of class, you’ll need to submit a Consent for Treatment form signed and submitted by your parent or guardian.
Transcript Requirements Incoming Freshmen: Final high school transcripts Dual Credit (if applicable) Students must submit their official final high school transcript after graduating. If you took dual credit, then you must submit your final dual credit college transcripts. Instructions on how to submit transcripts can be found at future.utsa.edu/documents.
Incoming Transfers: Work in Progress (if applicable) Students with work in progress must submit their official college transcript after completing their courses. Instructions on how to submit transcripts can be found at future.utsa.edu/documents.
We also highly recommend you: Apply for Financial Aid To receive financial aid, you must submit a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), which opens October 1. If you’re a non-citizen Texas resident, please complete the TASFA (Texas Application for State Financial Aid).

Apply for UTSA Scholarships UTSA oversees a wide range of scholarships that are funded by the university and donors. To be considered for these, you must submit the Scholarship Hub’s General Application on the UTSA Scholarship Hub by the stated deadline. Applications for scholarships offered through departments and academic colleges are also available on the Hub. Scholarships are added regularly and have many different closing dates, so we recommended checking often for opportunities to minimize out of pocket costs. Learn more at future.utsa.edu/scholarships.
