UTSA + UT Health Physical Therapy

The Physical Therapy Early Acceptance Program is a six-year (3+3) B.S./D.P.T. dual-degree program, earning a bachelor's degree in Biology or Kinesiology from UTSA and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from UT Health San Antonio.

UTSA + UT Health Nursing

This joint program allows UTSA students who are admitted to UTHSA Nursing school the opportunity to earn both their B.S. in multidisciplinary studies and a B.S. degree in Nursing (B.S.N.) in four years.

UTSA + UT Health Dental

The Dental Early Acceptance Program (DEAP) is a seven-year (3+4)

B.S./D.D.S. dual-degree program with UTSA and UT Health San Antonio Dental School.

UTSA + UT Health Respiratory Care

The Respiratory Care Early Acceptance Program (RCEAP) is a five-year (3+2) B.S./M.S.R.C dual-degree program earning a bachelor’s degree in Biology or Kinesiology from UTSA and a Master of Science in Respiratory Care from UT Health San Antonio.

UTSA + UT Health Medical Laboratory Science

The Medical Laboratory Science Early Acceptance Program is a five-year (3+2) B.S./M.L.S dual-degree program, earning a bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or Microbiology/Immunology from UTSA and a Master of Science in Medical Laboratory Science from UT Health San Antonio.

Joint Admission Medical Program

UTSA participates in the Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP), which helps Texas resident students pursue a medical education. Visit texasjamp.org for more information.

Institute for Law & Public Affairs

UTSA’s Institute for Law and Public Affairs supports students interested in pursuing a legal career through pre-law advising and events, Certificate in Legal Studies, and its hallmark, the Summer Law School Preparation Academy.  utsa.edu/ilpa

Air Force & Army ROTC

UTSA provides opportunities for students to work toward becoming commissioned officers in the U.S. Air Force or Army while completing their degree. ROTC students can also minor in Aerospace Studies or Military Management and Leadership.  future.utsa.edu/rotc

Teacher Certification Program

UTSA is approved by the State Board for Educator Certification to recommend students for teaching certification in various baccalaureate degree areas.

Elementary School Students wanting to be an elementary school teacher should major in EducationEquity and Education.

Middle/High School

Students wanting to teach in middle school or high school will need a bachelor’s degree in their academic specialization.

Class rank and test scores listed above are minimum requirements to be considered for holistic review. It is highly suggested that holistic review applicants include an essay or personal statement and submit two letters of recommendation.

Don't have a class rank?

If your high school transcript does not show a rank, UTSA will assign a rank in accordance with the requirements of Texas Education Code 51.9241(d). You will also be subject to general admission requirements.

Test Optional

SAT or ACT scores are not required for admission but will be considered if submitted. We highly recommend submitting test scores because some scholarships and majors require them. Students who do not submit test scores will be considered for admission under holistic review.

Admission into Certain Majors

Students may need to meet additional major-specific requirements in order to be admitted directly into a college and major. These programs are identified with a Δ symbol in the listing of programs to the left. Students who meet UTSA's general admission requirements, but not the stated major requirements, will be admitted into the University College in a focused studies pathway that is based on the academic studies program they selected when they applied. Students will then be able to work toward meeting the prerequisites needed to declare their major.

Honors College Invitation

Students will be automatically considered for Honors College eligibility based on their admission application to UTSA. Students must receive an invitation and submit an acceptance to officially join the Honors College. Honors College students are from all majors and enjoy many benefits including priority registration, additional scholarship opportunities and an experiential curriculum. To be considered for an honors invitation, students must meet Distinguished Presidential Scholarship criteria and/or have gone through an individual review until the class is full.

Application Process: Freshman Admissions

1 Submit your Admission Application Apply to UTSA through ApplyTexas.org or CommonApp.org

2 Pay Application Fee

Credit Card: If you did not pay your fee when you submitted your application, you'll be able to pay it once UTSA receives your application and you gain access to your myUTSA Admissions portal. Fee Waiver: Visit future.utsa.edu/feewiaver to see if you qualify for a fee waiver. Applicants will have to demonstrate a financial need.

3 Submit Academic Records

Self Reported Academic Record (SRAR): Submit and link your academic records through the myUTSA Admissions portal. Once you access your UTSA's Admissions portal, you'll be able to verify the link. A SRAR can help you get an admission decision faster. If you can't complete a SRAR, you can also send your high school transcript to UTSA.

Dual Credit: If you have earned college credit in high school, submit official college transcripts to UTSA upon completion of your dual credit.

Send Test Scores

SAT/ACT: UTSA's ACT Code is 4239 and SAT Code is 6919. SAT or ACT scores are not required for admission, but considered if submitted.

ELP: International students must submit English Language Proficiency scores directly from the testing agency. Testing agency codes can be found at future.utsa.edu/international.

5 Submit Additional Documents

All documentation must be received by the admission deadline (not postmarked).

myUTSA Admissions Portal: Once UTSA receives your application and you get access to your myUTSA Admissions portal, you'll see a checklist of remaining items, documents, or forms required to complete your admissions file.

Essay & Recommendation Letters: These items do not appear on your admission checklist because they are recommended; however, if you're undergoing a holistic review, you are encouraged to submit an essay and two letters of recommendation. If you graduated high school early, submit a letter of recommendation from your counselor.

Check your Admission Status

You'll get an email to claim your myUTSA ID, which you will use to log into our myUTSA Admissions portal at my.future.utsa.edu. Once logged in, click your application to find your status and admission checklist. Be sure to check your email often for updates!

UTSA Scholarship Hub's General Application

UTSA offers several scholarship opportunities through our Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships to help students cover the cost of education.

To access this scholarship application, students must first submit an admission application to UTSA. Then when you get your myUTSA ID, log into our UTSA Scholarship Hub and submit the Scholarship Hub’s General Application by January 15. To be considered for scholarships, you must also have a completed admission application file, including optional test scores, transcripts, fees, etc. by January 15.

Even after January 15, students are encouraged to visit the Hub often as new scholarship opportunities are added throughout the year.

Fall applicants who display exceptional scholastic achievement in high school will automatically be considered for this competitivebased merit scholarship valued at up to $20,000 for up to four years if renewal eligibility is maintained. Students must apply and be admitted to UTSA by January 15.

Terry Scholars at UTSA

Apply for Scholarships

UTSA Scholarship Hub: Once you get your myUTSA ID, login to the UTSA Scholarship Hub to complete the Hub's General Application and any other UTSA scholarships available on the Hub. Outside Scholarship: If you are the recipient of any type of award to fund your education from a source other than UTSA, you must report it to Financial Aid & Scholarships as soon as possible by submitting an Outside Scholarship Notification Form on onestop.utsa.edu/forms.

2 Submit FAFSA/TASFA

To receive financial aid, you must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on studentaid.gov. UTSA's FAFSA Code is 010115.

If you're a non-citizen Texas resident, please complete the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) at highered.texas.gov/tasfa.

File your FAFSA or TASFA by our priority deadline Feb 15 for fall or Nov 1 for spring. Certain aid options, like the Texas Grant, are offered based on our priority deadline. These dates may be modified if there are any changes within the US Department of Education or the State of Texas.

3 Get Admitted to UTSA

Students must first be admitted to UTSA in order to have a Financial Aid offer generated. The timing of when offers are sent out vary.

Set up Duo and Check Status

UTSA is committed to protecting our student data. Students must have two-factor authentication set up through DUO in order see financial aid information on your myUTSA Account. Set up Duo at onestop.utsa.edu/duo.

5 Review & Accept your Offer

Once students receive a Financial Aid offer, students must either decline or accept their offer. Financial Aid begins to disburse, or pay out, 10 days prior to the first day of class.
