CREATIVE Yunina Barbour-Payne (Director) is a Ph.D. in Theatre candidate with a specialization in performance as public practice at The University of Texas at Austin. She identifies as a scholar/ artist who has served as a K-12 arts educator in Texas. She has an extensive background in theatre for and with young audiences. She works with The Ensemble Theatre in Houston, Texas as a teaching artist, actor, playwright and director for the Young Performers Program. She is interested in work at the intersections of theatre, performance and Afrilachian aesthetics. Giana Blazquez Bultman (Tour Manager) is a third-year M.F.A. in Theatre candidate with a specialization in drama and theatre for youth and communities at The University of Texas at Austin. She identifies as a director, choreographer and teaching artist from Orlando, Florida. Lara Dossett (Producer) believes that learning in and through the arts can be transformational. She is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Drama and Theatre for Youth and Communities area at The University of Texas at Austin. She received her M.F.A. at UT Austin, where she researched sustainable models for arts integration in K-12 public schools. Dossett is the professional learning coordinator for Drama for Schools (DFS). She programs and implements dramabased pedagogy professional learning through DFS's partnerships with schools and school districts locally, nationally and internationally. Farah Lawal Harris (Playwright) is a firstgeneration Nigerian playwright, actress, director, poet and mother. She is the artistic director of Young Playwrights’ Theater and producing playwright with The Welders in Washington, D.C. She recently had the honor of being included on the 2020 Kilroys List for her world-premiere play, Silence is Violence. She is currently a member of TheatreWashington’s Advisory Board and Co-Chair of the annual DC Theatre Summit. Lawal Harris is a proud co-founder of The Saa-

rtijie Project and Wild Women Theatre and a three-time individual artist grant recipient from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. Gabrielle Lewis (Dramaturg) is a M.F.A. in Theatre candidate with a specialization in drama and theatre for youth and communities. Her previous work has included performance, playwriting and devising through her undergraduate program at Augsburg University. This is her first production with Texas Theatre and Dance. Ningmo Liu (Animation Designer) is a third-year M.F.A. in Theatre (lighting design) candidate at The University of Texas at Austin. He is a theatre and visual artist with design experience in theatrical lighting, scenery, projection, costume and animation. Liu is an international student from China who earned his B.F.A. from Texas Christian University, where he worked on numerous productions including 42nd Street (projection designer, 2019); Bare (lighting and projection designer, 2018); Love, Loss, and What I Wore (costume designer, 2018); Sylvia (lighting designer, 2017) and Mister Major and the Minor Wife (scenic designer, 2017). Courtney Manning (Community Engagement Lead) is a M.F.A. in Theatre candidate with a specialization in drama and theatre for youth and communities at The University of Texas at Austin. She graduated from Texas Christian University with a B.A. in Theatre and B.S.E. in Educational Studies. Manning is a teaching artist in schools and communities whose work and scholarship explores the relationship between embodiment, healing and drama-based pedagogy. Linn Plant (Stage Manager) is a second-year B.A. in Theatre and Dance major with an emphasis in stage management. She has an extensive background in both technical theatre and acting. Recent credits with Texas Theatre and Dance include OCD (UTNT (UT New Theatre), 2021).

CAST Sydnie Brown (Kemi) is a fourth-year B.F.A. in Acting major at The University of Texas at Austin. She has an extensive background in singing, dancing and acting. She will be completing her final semester in Los Angeles in Spring 2022. Afer graduation she plans to pursue a career in acting professionally. Renita James (Tasia) is a M.F.A. in Theatre candidate with a specialization in drama and theatre for youth and communities at The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to attending graduate school, James worked as a teaching artist, actor and arts administrator in and around Atlanta, Georgia.

2021/2022 TEXAS THEATRE AND DANCE SEASON

Andrea Nuñez (Jules) is a B.A. in Theatre and Dance major with an emphasis in performer’s process at The University of Texas at Austin. She had an extensive background in poetry and acting. Recent credits with Texas Theatre and Dance include Sonnets for an Old Century (2021), sad women being sad (UTNT (UT New Theatre), 2021) and Wyeth Airlines Flight Thirteen (UTNT (UT New Theatre), 2020), among other projects. Christopher Ndubuizu (Mr. Ajayi) is a doctoral candidate in African and African Diaspora Studies at The University of Texas at Austin. He studies the incorporation and integration of Black African immigrants in the United States.
