Empty your mind
Now is always the best time to open your mind in search of peace and love BY MIKEY WEBSTER
Awaken your awareness
Silence stray thoughts
With the hectic pace and demands of modern life, many people feel stressed and over-worked. It often feels like there is just not enough time in the day to get everything done. Our stress and tiredness make us unhappy, impatient and frustrated. It can even affect our health. We are often so busy we feel there is no time to stop and meditate! E is for Empty

But meditation actually gives you more time by making your mind calmer and more focused. A simple ten or fifteen minute breathing meditation as explained below can help you to overcome your stress and find some inner peace and harmonious alance of the mind. Concentrate on all of the roof of your mind. This will [ PAGE 4 ]

Energy is pure, clean energy. As an added bonus, the surplus energy can be transfered to a battery and stored for later use; however, be aware that this will increase your costs considerably, depending on the size of the battery. Solar water tanks can heat stored water for whatever reason you need hot water for, such as showers. S is for Silence
Meditation can also help
us to understand our own mind. We can learn how to transform our mind from negative to positive, from disturbed to peaceful, from unhappy to happy. Overcoming negative minds and cultivating constructive thoughts is the purpose of the transforming meditations found in the Buddhist tradition. This is a profound spiritual practice you can enjoy throughout the day, not just while seated in meditation. Have Fun While You Run
If you aren’t smiling, you aren’t having fun, so maybe you can try running faster!
Go online. Find an energy calculator to assess your current energy usage. Try and find one that suits your country. Some sites have calculators that will automatically tally up the energy efficiency of your house currently. It is also helpful if the site can also produce a graph or tally that can demonstrate what your house’s potential could be after making some minor changes. Install skylights in your roof. This will allow natural sunlight to illuminate your house for free, especially over rooms that are the darkest. Sunlight is more powerful than any bulb, so the light will flow through much of the room where the skylight is installed. Or add in sun lights which will provide lights in the day time. your house in many ways. It can heat water at the most basic level. Solar energy is pure, clean energy. As an added bonus, the surplus energy can be transfered to a battery and stored for later use; however, be aware that this will increase your costs considerably, depending on the size of the battery. Solar water tanks can heat stored water for whatever reason you need hot water for, such as showers. Use low wattage light bulbs. These are a great way to save energy easily. They plug straight into any lighting unit and use less energy. Some are even brighter than standard light bulbs but are consuming a lot less energy. Consider using motion sensor light bulbs for both indoors and outdoors. These will keep you from leaving a room without turning the lights off.
Outdoors, they can save a lot of money on wasted electricity but will illuminate your pathway to the door when needed. These are also good burglar deterrents, as the sudden switching on of a light is very disconcerting when unexpected. Choose low flow toilet mechanisms. These use less water while still doing the same job as regular toilets. Obviously, you will save water and money on water bills. You can make a difference if you’re willing to make the effort!

Given, her mother is the founder of an empire that includes magazines, crafts and food lines, an a affiliation with Sirius Satellite Radio, Emeril Lagasse’s media and merchandising business and, of course, the iconic TV show “The Martha Stewart Show.” As a child, Beatrice was sometimes required to don a toque and attend after-school cooking lessons her mother held for her and her friends. She grew up around too much croquembouche (“Did you know that they never taste good?”) and wasn’t allowed to sit on her bedspread, for fear of messing it up. Her mother bribed her (all the clothes she wanted) to sit up straight. The child of Martha and her ex-husband, Andrew Stewart, Beatrice says she was grumpy as a child, and can be caustic now. “What the f— does that mean?” asks Alexis, whose marriage to John Cuti ended in divorce in 2004. “That I don’t have a husband and a big ring and children?” She famously stood by her mother during her legal problems a few years ago—sitting in the front row of her trial every day and visiting her in jail in West Virginia almost every weekend. Currently, she is renovating an apartment in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village that was reported to cost as much as $35 million, which is a lot of dough. I mean, that is a serious chunk of change, and I don’t care who you are or where you from, you will unintentionally respect that in spite of your greatest efforts. I guess that is what makes being a Christian so fantastic, according to

Currently, she is renovating an apartment in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village that was reported to cost as much as the thing I really don’t like about her is when she doesn’t protect herself from anything. I don’t know how to get her to do this. It’s a constant battle. I try being nice. I try nagging. I try not being nice. But I will ostracize as hard as I can people who are harming her. People want to think. because they already have the “she’s perfect” thing. So her relationship with her daughter must be bad. It’s not the case. It’s such a snore. I’m just an angry person.
O
ur relationship is not as close as many of my friends’ relationships with their daughters. For example, they might talk every day. Alexis and I don’t. I would always like to talk more. I would like to talk once a day. I often talk with her about business and also personal decisions I am concerned about. I think she has a brilliant, agile, fast mind. I’ve learned to pay more attention to my physical self [from her]. I’ve learned how to edit, even better than I did before, editing my life, editing my home, editing my environment. We both have excellent taste, we
both enjoy healthy and delicious foods, things that are made well and we both compromise… Well I compromise more than she ever has. I’m more forgiving than she is. I am involved in a giant business with an awful lot of moving parts and lots of people and you sometimes have to give in even when it’s not exactly the right thing. Alexis would never give in. I try to keep Alexis involved in the business. She doesn’t want the whole burden. Alexis loves to clean way more than me. She lives in a 4,000-square-foot apartment, and she doesn’t have a housekeeper. She has the

harnesses and can get out on the outside of the sloping roof and clean the windows. She is not always grumpy. She was always discriminating. But she wants to be perceived as grumpy. The no smiling started, I think, in college. I always took pictures of her, tried to make her smile for my photographs, and my photographs of her are beautiful. All I care about is that she’s happy and healthy and leads the life she wants to lead. She’s her own person. She makes up her own mind. I sometimes try to offer advice, but if it’s not taken, so be it. A statuesque blonde who loves clothes and yoga, rails against people who have no manners—like the woman she saw recently who deliberately tossed a used tissue under a table at Bergdorf ’s—and bakes and cleans like, well, everyone’s favorite Martha Stewart’s daughter.
