Girls fight back september 11
Thursday | 4:30 p.m. | Free Valhalla, Cartwright Center
Girls Fight Back teaches college women the basics of personal safety and self-defense in a most hilarious way. There wasn’t – so she created it! The GFB presentation is conducted by professionally trained speakers and self-defense instructors. With the entire speaker team being young and female, they explain how to live the unstoppable life you desire without fear, how to trust intuition, how to address violence in social situations, how to create a safer campus environment, how to reduce risk in the cyber world … but, most importantly, how to LIVE and LOVE your life in the process.

Friday | 6 & 9 p.m. | FREE Graff Main Hall Auditorium
More money, more problems. Broke digs into the psychology of men whose competitive nature carried them to victory on the field yet seemed to ruin them off the field. According to a 2009 Sports Illustrated article, 60 percent of former NBA players are broke within five years of retirement. By the time they have been retired for two years,
78% of former NFL players have gone bankrupt or are under financial stress. Sucked into bad investments, stalked by freeloaders, saddled with medical problems, and naturally prone to showing off, many pro athletes get shocked by harsh economic realities after years of living the high life.
