When you donate to education you are helping to ensure that children are on track for kindergarten, and meeting academic milestones in order to graduate high school college and career ready. Together, with our partners, we offer children access to quality early learning programs as well as extended school day and summer learning opportunities.
If you decide to give to health, you are supporting healthier beginnings and healthier lives. Together, with our partners, we work to ensure that children are developmentally on track and that adults have access to health-related services and supports.
FINANCIAL SECURITY Giving a donation to financial security helps families get on the pathway to a financially secure future. Together, with our partners, we offer a comprehensive approach to connecting individuals with skills and training for jobs in our region as well as the financial services and supports to achieve their goals.
BASIC NEEDS By donating to basic needs you are helping to ensure that there are services available in times of need. Together, with our partners, we support information and referral services, such as 2-1-1, and access to immediate emergency services such as food, shelter, disaster relief and services for survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault. There are many people in central and northeastern Connecticut who despite working hard, struggle to make ends meet every day. In fact, it’s one in three families who live above the federal poverty line and represent a group we call ALICE, Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. We are a champion for these families and your gift to United Way will help prepare children for academic success, connect people with good jobs and provide immediate emergency assistance to families in need.
