* One additional option for students doing double science; two for students taking single science; three for students for whom there is no LOTE option. ** All students take one of the UWCSEA Narratives of our World Courses, and also take one of the (I)GCSE English options.
Progression into Grade 11 All students who display commitment to the College Values and have actively participated in all elements of the Learning Programme are welcome to join Grade 11. Our open and inclusive transition process relies upon a partnership between students, parents and the school, in which the best educational interest of the student is the primary consideration.
Assessment Assessment patterns differ from subject to subject; many include coursework, practical and/or oral components. UWCSEA Courses may also require portfolio work or product
design. Toward the end of Grade 9 results from internal examinations provide students feedback and guidance on their progress. For (I)GCSE students, a second round of internal examinations mid-way through Grade 10 provides further feedback to inform exam preparation before the external (I)GCSE examinations at the end of Term 3. In subjects where examinations are required to prepare for Grade 11 and 12, UWCSEA Courses students sit an internal examination at the end of Term 3.

Progression into Grade 11 All students who display commitment to the College Values and have actively participated in all elements of the Learning Programme are welcome to join Grade 11. Our open and inclusive transition process relies upon a partnership between students, parents and the school, in which the best educational interest of the student is the primary consideration.
Assessment Assessment patterns differ from subject to subject; many include a coursework, practical or oral component, meaning that the students’ final grade is based on both work done during the two-year course and the results of the final examinations. Toward the end of Grade 9 internal examinations provide students feedback and guidance based on their results. A second round of internal examinations mid-way through Grade 10 provides further feedback to inform exam preparation. Students undertake the external (I)GCSE examinations from May of their Grade 10 year.
