Community Portal on the UWCSEA website The portal gives direct access to your child’s records (including their timetable and reports). It also includes learning programme information, parent notices, campus services information, staff and parent directories, forms and more. UWCSEA mobile app A mini-portal, the app contains the most frequently accessed information from the Community Portal. Parents can access their individualised notices and calendar, eBrief, the parent and staff directories, their child’s timetable, homework (for Middle and High School students), iPAL for permissions and payments, and more. Email messages* We try to minimise the amount of email to parents, but do look out for important messages in your inbox. From time to time the College President, Head of Campus and school principals will send direct emails with important updates or invitations. System emails are also sent regarding Activities and Service sign-ups and for permissions required for school trips. College calendar A customised version of the calendar based on your child’s campus and school section is available when you log in to the Community Portal or mobile app. The Google calendar format allows you to sync school events with your own calendar. The calendar is also on the website along with a printable one-page term dates calendar. Primary School: Grade and class announcements and learning journals K1–Grade 5 parents can keep up with grade-level events and new units of study via weekly announcements/ blog posts by the Head of Grade (linked in eBrief). Through the Seesaw app, teachers share class announcements and home learning (homework, as applicable) and K1–G5 students post to their individual learning journals to document and reflect on their learning. NICE TO KNOW Tools for keeping up with what’s happening across the College Learning programme website An overview of the UWCSEA learning programme—Academics, Activities, Outdoor Education, Personal and Social Education, and Service—by grade. Parent forums and coffee mornings The Head of Campus and school principals offer termly parent forums to address campus-wide or schoolspecific developments and topics of interest. There are also grade-level, nationality and other parent coffee mornings offered periodically. Sports Fixtures websites For representative sports teams, these sites provide the fixtures and venues, team information and results. The user-friendly mobile version allows you to add a shortcut icon to the menu on your mobile device. Dunia magazine Our biannual magazine offers a deeper view into developments at UWCSEA, the learning programme, and stories that celebrate our community. STAY CONNECTED Steps to ensure you receive key information from the College Update your family’s details Please help us keep your family’s records up to date. To change your contact information, passport or immigration documents, fee payer information, or to update your child’s medical information including emergency contacts, follow these steps: • log in to the Community Portal (see page 2 of this brochure) • click ‘Update Family Details’ to change your child’s or family’s details
Indicate a preferred email address An important step to remember is to indicate your preferred email address for receiving school communications. If you do not do this, the College will default to the first email contact on file as your preferred email address. You can indicate your preferred email address by logging in to the portal or via the UWCSEA app.
