Going above and beyond As we approach our 50th anniversary, it is clearer than ever that if we harness the collective impact and resources of our community, we will achieve more united than any of us will achieve alone. Generous donations from parents, alumni, students and staff allow us to do more of what we do best: equip young people with the skills and qualities to build a better world for all of us. Specifically, with your support, we can work together to: • Deliver more deeply on our mission to make education a force that unites people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. • Keep pace with the ever-changing educational landscape by providing access to innovative experiences, resources, and collaborations that push our students and community to learn and grow in new ways. • Ensure UWCSEA’s legacy of impact by investing in our teams, establishing more diverse and sustainable revenue streams, and building our endowments to support our long term goals. Contributions from our generous UWCSEA community help us to go above and beyond our already ambitious holistic education, which encourages young people of all ages to make their mark and find their place in the world. With gifts of support throughout the years, we have been able to create innovative learning spaces like the IDEAS Hub, advance sustainability initiatives like our student-led solar panel efforts, and fund scholarships for hundreds of students who are facing challenging circumstances and financial hardships that would otherwise prevent them from accessing the life-changing benefits of a UWC education. OUR PRIORITIES By supporting UWCSEA’s strategic giving priorities, you are investing in the competencies we believe are most critical to develop in our students as they embrace challenges and take responsibility for shaping a better world. With your support, we will advance programmes and initiatives that develop interpersonal and intercultural understanding, promote peace-building, foster stewardship and sustainability, and nurture a sense of self and community well-being.
Our people UWCSEA is only as vibrant and impactful as our teachers, students, staff, parents, alumni and broader community—the people who unite together to make our mission possible. While there are many ways to support Our People, a gift to the Scholarship Programme is a direct investment in our students and their futures of possibility and potential. Each year, more than 100 scholars from 55 countries are part of the fabric of the UWCSEA community. Scholarships are awarded through a unique selection process that identifies exceptional students who otherwise would not have access to a UWC education. Your gift will support, in full or part, a comprehensive scholarship package including: tuition, room, board and other educational expenses.
Our programmes Gifts to support teaching and learning programmes allow the College to activate new, cutting edge resources that help better prepare our students to become next generation problem solvers and global leaders. This giving priority allows us to think outside the box and supplement learning in ways that deepen collaboration, innovation and growth. Your gift will support enhanced teaching and learning, including: the next phase of the IDEAS Hub and East Innovation Lab programming; studentcentred learning spaces that meet the needs of all students; and linguistic enrichment and cross-cultural learning experiences.
Our planet UWCSEA works at all levels to educate our community on the responsibility we have to protect our planet and empower the next generation of leaders with the skills and knowledge to create a more sustainable future. We seek to integrate sustainability into our curriculum, campus design, food service, and eventually even the ways in which we invest and manage our endowments. Your gift will support our greatest sustainability needs, including: Greening of our campuses and the creation of outdoor learning spaces; studentled solar panel initiatives to decrease our environmental footprint; and environmental education ranging from gardening and composting to marine conservation and the circular economy.
