elcome to the 2009 SEASAC Volleyball Tournament.
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all - players, coaches and supporters - to the 2010 SEASAC Volleyball Competition. Volleyball is a growing sport and it is easy to understand why. It requires skill of the highest level, tactical awareness, stamina and teamwork; it can provide moments of drama for players and spectators alike, and it can be played by both sexes almost regardless of age - all the makings of a great sport. Competitions of this type are memorable occasions for the participants and I hope those memories will be good. I look forward to watching some highly competitive games, but ultimately it must be the manner in which those games are played that is important. A high level of sportsmanship is paramount if the competition is to be a success and enjoyed by all involved. I hope you enjoy your time with us at UWCSEA.
Julian Whitely Head of College.
The following pages list the tournament details and other useful information. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require clarification on any issues. Facilities - Boys: The boys Pool games will be held at Tanglin Trust School, Portsdown Road. This is a 5 minute taxi/bus drive from UWCSEA on Dover Road. All play-off games will be held at UWCSEA on Sunday. Girls: The girls tournament will be held at UWCSEA, Dover Road. Security (of valuables) - Teams must take responsibility for their own valuables. Please do not leave anything in the changing rooms. Food - Teams will be issued with coupons which can be exchanged for food and beverages at the two sites. Water - There will be water containers between courts but no disposable cups will be available. Please ensure that players bring their own bottles to re-fill. Coaches Hospitality - There will be a coaches hospitality room available throughout the day. It will be stocked with a supply of sandwiches, fruit and soft drinks and a buffet lunch will be served there. Medical Treatment - There will be a nurse available at both venues. If there is an injury that warrants hospital treatment, we will use either NUH or Gleneagles Hospital (depending on the nature of the injury). The contact details are included in the contact list below. An adult from your school must be available to accompany any of your players requiring treatment. Please ensure that the staff can provide all necessary contact details and documents for insurance purposes and have the ability to cover any expenses incurred. The Tournament Director must be notified of any athlete required to leave the facility for treatment. Transport - The transport for both boys and girls tournaments will be provided by UWCSEA. The contact number for the coordinator is in the “Important Contact Details list below. Awards Dinner - The Awards Dinner is being held at UWCSEA, Dover Road.
