Why do we choose Foster?

When we started thinking about earning an MBA, we did our homework. We researched part-time programs that allowed us to keep working. We talked to friends and colleagues. We visited classrooms. Here’s where we ended up: For us, the Foster Evening MBA is simply the best part-time program in the Seattle area. No contest. Why? Let us count the ways. Foster offers us... The opportunity to earn an MBA from the region’s top business school while balancing our studies with the rest of our lives, including work and family. Time to explore course content in greater depth while spreading out the cost of education over three years. Flexibility in scheduling courses, including the option to speed up completion

of the program. The ability to specialize in an area of concentration, or pursue a completely self-designed study plan unique to our career goals and aspirations. A fantastic group of fellow students who enhance the experience—a network of connections we call upon while we’re in the program, friends we’ll keep long after we graduate. Collaborative study teams that encourage community and mutual support

for learning. Options for customizing our program with professional development and

extra-curricular activities. A strong alumni network, with over 54,000 Foster alums worldwide, including over 11,000 MBA alums. The ability to think strategically about business problems, and the confidence to step out and lead.

We are Foster Evening MBAs Who’s a typical Evening MBA student? Sorry, there’s no such thing. We come from all kinds of backgrounds and live all kinds of lives. We were born down the block and around the world. We work for big corporations, small startups, nonprofits and government agencies. We are engineers, artists, entrepreneurs, sales and marketing specialists, healthcare administrators, and scientists. We’re in our first real job and we’re on our third career. We like pickup basketball and volunteering at the local food bank and reading fairy tales to our kids. What we have in common is passion—for business, for community, for life. You will fit right in.

We make the most of it Once we’ve built a solid foundation of business knowledge and get a handle on the basic MBA toolbox, Foster encourages us to branch out and pursue our own paths, wherever they may lead. Here’s how we do it: Electives

Dive deep into an academic area of interest, earn a specialized certificate—even take courses outside the business school. If we know what we want, we can find it here. Business Plan and Case Competitions

We’re big on collaboration and teamwork at Foster, but we also like to win. Business plan and case competitions help us excel both ways. It’s incredibly challenging and rewarding, and just plain fun. Field Study Projects

Field study projects let us apply our knowledge and skills to challenges faced by real businesses. The experience looks great on our résumés. Centers, Clubs and Student Leadership

Centers help us start our own companies, meet venture capitalists, consult with small businesses, serve on nonprofit boards and travel to learn about global business. Clubs offer us opportunities to network with other students interested in healthcare, marketing, consulting, finance, strategy, sustainable business and more. Programs like peer mentoring, the MBA Association and Challenge for Charity develop our leadership skills and help us give back to the community. Philip Bond Associate Professor of Finance and Business Economics

Career Management

MBA Career Management is here to assist with career coaching, connecting with mentors in the business community, meeting recruiters, setting up interviews and applying for jobs and internships. With Foster’s connections, we’ll go far.
