Boy Scouts of America

BASIC LITERACY PROGRAM

SCOUT REACH PROGRAM

provides direct educational services to assist individuals in acquiring basic skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening and communication

enables low-income, minority and at-risk youth with financial limitations to participate in Scouting programs

INCOME:

Alliance for Literacy provides direct educational services to adults 16 years or older to prepare them to successfully pass the GED test

Boy Scouts of America Hispanic Outreach Program designed to bring Hispanic youth to the Scouting program, and engage them in physical activity, healthy behavior, team building, crime prevention and abuse avoidance

Children’s Center for Hope & Healing Project Pathfinder helps young people who have displayed inappropriate sexual behaviors and/or face legal charges as a sexual offender

SUMMER SENSATIONS PROGRAM

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAM

PROJECT ACHIEVEMENT

provides learning opportunities to special needs children ages six weeks to six years through interaction with typically developing peers

assists young people ages 9-19 in developing life skills through hands-on learning

provides week-long camp to special-needs children and an opportunity to continue learning during the summer months

Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia Financial Literacy Program teaches girls kindergarten through high school how to budget, make good business decisions or financial decisions and set goals

Gateway Domestic Violence Center Transitional Housing furnishes apartments so survivors of domestic violence and their children can have a safe place as they transition from living in emergency shelters to their own safe home

allows economicallydisadvantaged youth to learn how eating smart, keeping fit and forming positive relationships add up to a healthy, productive lifestyle

Community Council on Aging

Meals On Wheels addresses the threat of hunger among older adults by providing healthy meals to those who because of fragile health and/or financial limitations cannot prepare nutritious meals

provides laboratory tests for medical patients who are uninsured and whose family income is less than 150% of the federal poverty level

helps teens develop the skills essential to securing employment and being successful upon entering the workforce

Center Point MENTOR PROGRAM recruits, trains and places volunteers or interns to mentor at-risk youth in an effort to nurture and help develop the interpersonal skills needed to be successful in life

provides diagnostic/ evaluation tools for the only free or low-cost psychological counseling and test provider in Hall County

helps residents with a physical, cognitive and/or developmental disability obtain durable medical equipment needed for an independent, dignified and healthy existence

Rape Response Date Rape Prevention Education

provides 3-day Georgia Board of Education approved date rape prevention education to approximately 2,300 8th graders

provides legal advocacy through the juvenile court to abused, abandonded and neglected children between the ages of birth and 18

implements a treatment plan for a child and his/her family to identify and replace destructive behavior patterns and work towards family reunification in a healthy environment

Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program SmartGirls Program targeted to middle and high school girls who are in need of support and education to avoid risky teen behaviors and early sexual activity

Health Services Program provides nursing and therapeutic services for special needs children ages six weeks to six years in a setting that is integrated with learning and socialization activities

provides free mental health services to students in the Hall County and Gainesville City school systems

Edmondson-Telford Center for Children Forensic Interview Program enables investigation of child abuse or neglect cases to have access to stronger, more accurate testimonies from victims that yield higher prosecution rates of offenders

Children’s Center for Hope & Healing Victim Services Program

Gateway Domestic Violence Center Child Witness Program provides support groups for children and teens who have witnessed abuse in their home, and teaches skills needed for healthy relationships

Gateway Domestic Violence Center Survivor Support Group

Gateway Domestic Violence Center Prevention Education Program attempts to break the cycle of domestic abuse by providing school-age children information about recognizing violence and how to identify potentially dangerous relationships

Pregnant & Parenting Support & Education

9th Grade Classroom-Based Education involves students in youth development activities designed for the prevention and/or intervention in unsafe and unhealthy behaviors such as early sexual activity, drug or alcohol use, pornography and unhealthy relationships

provides comprehensive support and parenting education to participants and enables them to become effective healthier parents able to provide for their children

Children’s Center for Hope & Healing Women’s Services Program provides licensed clinical psychologist to counsel women 18 years and older who have been victimized by sexual abuse as children

The Guest House Adult Day Health Care Services

provides frail, elderly patients who often have Alzheimer’s disease or some type of dementia, with medical, social and emotional care in a warm, “home-like” environment

provides specialized counseling to children ages 2 to 18 who have been victims of sexual abuse

supports women who are ending abusive relationships, and teaches skills for a life free from violence

Three Dimensional Life Family Recovery Program educates, equips and empowers families who are in the prevention or intervention stages of dealing with additions or destructive behaviors of their children
