Cardiff Metropolitan University Marque An academic, honest and clear brand to clearly communicate our name as ‘Cardiff Metropolitan University’. The evolved Marque no longer features the UWIC brand within the Marque. The simplified version of the university crest now features as part of the Marque itself.

The Marque has been specially created for Cardiff Metropolitan University and should not be altered or redrawn in any way.

The Corporate Design Team can supply a suite of logotypes and formats for you to use, please do not alter or ‘tweak’ these in any way. This is to ensure that the Cardiff Metropolitan University Marque always looks its best at whatever size or application. Should you have any queries, please get in touch with the Corporate Design Team (contact details at back).

Giving the Marque room to breathe To help ensure that our Marque makes the most impact, this example shows the minimum clear space to allow around the Marque. You must ensure whenever the Marque appears, nothing encroaches into this area, which is the equivalent to the height of the three lines of text used in the Cardi Metropolitan University Marque, applied all the way around.

Social Media As the use of social media across Cardiff Met grows, it is important to ensure that use of official branding on any university related accounts, reflects our branding in a consistent and correct way. Profile images, avatars, cover photos and header images are important pieces of content. They can help extend the reach of the university and your account and help inform your audience that the account and content is official. Whether it’s a Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter account or YouTube channel, your profile image identifies who you are at a glance and the correct use of branding can help any visitor clearly identify that the account is part of the university and can be trusted. Resources & Specifications All social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube etc. each have their own specifications and sizes for profile pictures, cover photos and header images. As such, any use of official Cardiff Met branding, such as the logo and/or crest, should be optimised to specific specifications before being used across any of these channels. Communications, Marketing & Student Recruitment has optimised a basic set of official logos and templates for use across various social media channels. You can request these by emailing socialmedia@cardiffmet.ac.uk - feel free to also ask us any social media branding queries via this email address.
