Cyflwyniad r hyd a lled Cymru, mae’r sector prosesu bwyd yn cynrychioli cyswllt deinamig sydd yn parhau i dyfu yn y gadwyn cyflenwi bwyd. Bydd y sector hon, sydd yn cyflogi oddeutu 25, 000 o bobl ac yn creu cannoedd o gynhyrchion newydd yn flynyddol, yn chwarae rôl flaenllaw yn natblygiad Cymru fel lleoliad ar gyfer cynhyrchion a phrosesau cynhyrchu arloesol. Gosodwyd targed i gyrraedd cyfradd twf o 30% (Sicrhau Twf: Llywodraeth Cymru 2014-2020) erbyn 2010, ac mae’r diwydiant wedi ymateb yn barod drwy gynyddu’r datblygiad o gynhyrchion newydd ac ehangu cyfran marchnad. Yn enwog yn barod am ei Chig Oen Cymreig a Chig Eidion Cymreig mae’r cyfeiriadur hwn yn dangos yn glir ansawdd y bwyd a gynhyrchir yng Nghymru. Gyda’r symbyliad i ehangu’r ystod o gynhyrchion PGI a PGO yn y blynyddoedd nesaf,

mae’r sector bwyd a diod yng Nghymru yn targedu cwsmeriaid newydd ar draws y byd. Bydd y cyfeiriadur atodedig yn hwyluso tyfiant drwy greu dogfen gyfeirio ar gyfer prosesu bwyd yng Nghymru. Bydd y cyfeiriadur yn cael ei ddefnyddio gan brynwyr manwerthu, swyddogion pwrcasu, busnesau bwyd, cyrff y sector gyhoeddus a phrynwyr i hwyluso gwerthiant cynyddol. Bydd y cyfeiriadur hefyd ar gael i gyrff dramor er mwyn hwyluso tyfiant arbenigol a mewnfuddsoddiad . Tu fewn i’r cyfeiriadur, rhestrir cwmnïau bwyd a diod yn unol

â diﬃniad sectorau'r Safon Bwyd Byd-eang BRC o gategorïau cynhyrchion bwyd a diod. Bydd hyn yn hwyluso defnydd byd-eang o’r cyfeiriadur ac yn ei wneud yn haws i adnabod cwmnïau bwyd a diod yng Nghymru. Mae’r sector bwyd yng Nghymru yn parhau i dyfu o ganlyniad i ansawdd ac awydd busnesau bwyd a diod yng Nghymru i gystadlu a’r amrywiaeth cyfoethog o gynhyrchion. Y cyfeiriadur hwn fydd y cyntaf mewn cyfres o rifynnau fydd yn cael eu cynhyrchu gan y canolfannau bwyd dros y blynyddoedd nesaf.

Introduction cross Wales, the food and drink processing sector represents a growing and dynamic link in the food supply chain. Employing approximately 25,000 people and creating thousands of new products annually, the sector will play an increasingly important role in further developing Wales as a location for innovative manufacturing products and processes. Targeted with a 30% growth rate by 2020 (Towards Sustainable Growth: An Action Plan for the Food and Drink Industry 2014 - 2020), the industry is already responding by increasing new product development and expanding market share. Although Wales is renowned for its high-quality lamb and beef, this directory gives an indication of the breadth of quality food and drinks produced within Wales. With a drive to expand Protected

Geographical Indication (PGI) and Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) product ranges in the coming years, the Welsh food and drink sector is targeting new customers across the globe. This directory will aid growth by creating a reference document for food and drink processing in Wales. The directory will be used by retail buyers, procurement oﬃcers, food and drink businesses, public sector bodies and consumers to facilitate increased sales. The directory will also be available to overseas bodies in order to encourage export growth and inward investment.

Within the directory, food and drink companies are listed in line with the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standard for Food Safety categorisation of food and drink products. This will enable global use of the directory and allow the identiﬁcation of Welsh food and drink companies to become more accessible. In Wales, the food and drink sector continues to grow as a result of the high-quality and competitiveness of food and drink businesses and the rich diversity of products. This directory is the ﬁrst of a number of versions, which will be produced by the food centres in the coming years.
