Head Coach SHEILA MIECH The only coach in UW-Stevens Point history, Sheila Miech is in her 25th season in 2011-12 with a 365-117-31 overall record. Ranking sixth on the all-time NCAA Division III wins list, Miech was just the second female coach in any division of NCAA women’s soccer to reach 200 career victories.

Miech’s best success has come in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play where she has lost just 12 regular season matches in the 20-year history of the league. She owns a staggering 133-12-7 career record in regular season conference matches, having won 14 conference championships. Miech guided the Pointers through the longest conference winning streak in NCAA history with 70 straight WIAC wins from 1997 to 2003. Miech was recently recognized for her dominance in the WIAC by being selected as the WIAC’s Women’s Soccer All-Time Coach in conjunction with the conference’s upcoming Centennial Celebration.
Her WIAC tournament resume is just as impressive, sporting a 43-4 all-time record with 15 conference tournament titles in the 19-year history of the event. The Pointers have made 15 NCAA tournament appearances and were the only WIAC school ever to qualify for the postseason prior to 2005. Miech earned the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year for the ninth time in the 20-year history of the league in 2010. In 2000, she was the Division III Central Region Coach of the Year for the third time in her career as the Pointers qualified for the Division III final four. Miech has also received recognition from the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association (WSCA) as she will be inducted into the WSCA Hall of Fame in March of 2012. Miech will be the first-ever female inductee.
