Vivi Anaya INTERIOR DESIGN

VIVI ANAYA Throughout my education at Kirkwood, I have learned that design is much more than just aesthetically pleasing spaces. Successful design affects everyone in every aspect of life. I believe that functional, sustainable design is a critical part to an individual’s wellbeing as any other vital part of life. I am very eager to share my design work with you and begin my professional career in such a compelling industry. I know that working in a creative, team environment is where I best thrive and there is no aspect of my experience so far that I have not enjoyed.

NuLife Plastic Surgery SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA 2 WEEKS, GROUP PROJECT 14,554 SQ FT REVIT, SKETCHUP, ENSCAPE, PROCREATE

“Located in one of the several cities that make up The Valley, NuLife Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Office serves as an in-patient clinic for both invasive and noninvasive procedures. With Scottsdale and its surrounding cities having a population of over 7 million, NuLife is welcome to a diverse clientele, and provides a safe and positive environment for anyone and everyone.” -Vivi Anaya, Joelle Nelson & Adrianna Johnosn

Drawing inspiration from Arizona’s natural landscape and flora, NuLife brings a new experience to their clientele. The diversity of the mountain ranges seen throughout the state influences the design, as NuLife see’s every body shape and size as beautiful. Warm terracotta tones and sunny yellow shades are spread throughout the space to create the feel of the natural scenery. Organic lines are utilized to mimic the gorgeous Arizona horizon.

Sundar Spa “The purpose of a spa remains the same—to provide a space where you can go to relax your body and your mind. Spa therapy provides physical, mental, and spiritual healing crucial in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and promoting longevity.”

The ocean is home to many sea creatures that live in or around the reef. When we swam in and around the lagoon, we saw many marine creatures that inspired our exterior design all around the resort. The Villas are inspired by manta rays, The Whale Bar is inspired by

STEELCASE NEXT NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK 7 WEEKS, INDIVIDUAL PROJECT 15, 000 SQ FT // 7th & 8th FLOOR REVIT, SKETCHUP, LUMION, ENSCAPE, PHOTOSHOP

“I felt a personal connection to the founders backstory as a child of immigrants. At the age of 23 my ama (grandmother) navigated her way to the Rio Grande with her six young children. The moment she planted her feet on Texas soil she boldly declared residency for herself and her family. I am here today because my ama bravely risked the life she knew to provide a better life for not only her children but generations to come.” - Vivi Anaya

PROXIMITY Proximity and density go hand in hand – and pose some of the greatest design challenges for shared spaces that are intended to bring people together. The proximity of people-to-people must now consider adequate physical distancing. The proximity of people-to-technology and tools for meeting in open spaces must match the provisions of enclosed spaces and simultaneously accommodate remote participants. And the proximity of furniture-to-furniture must consider density and adjacencies in new ways – and cue distancing behaviors.

RESEARCH As we study the new issues of creating safer work environments in the COVID-19 world, we’ve discovered the following three main workspace design challenges – physical distancing, circulation patterns and spatial context. Understanding distancing and density, and their relationship to circulation patterns within an existing spatial context, is key to solving for the evolving safety guidelines in shared spaces.

THE BRODEUR HOME SPRINGVILLE, IA 1 WEEK, INDIVIDUAL PROJECT 2,624 SQ FT CHIEF ARCHITECT, SKETCHUP, ENSCAPE

“The Brodeur Family is looking to do a complete remodle on their 70s style ranch home. Located on farmland, Springville, Iowa consists of peace, serenity and views of the beautiful countryside. Pulling inspiration from the clients, it was clear that their aesthetic drive was a mixture of scandinavian and a touch of old farmhouse. Wood tones, sage green, black fixtures and a simplistic color palatte can be seen throughout the home making sure of the fullfillment of the clients desires.” -Vivi Anaya

LAYOUT The Broduer family consists of Josh and Emily and their 2 childern, Bentley who is 10 and Hudson who is 8. Along side the family is their 4 leg fur baby. The original floor plan of this home peresents a enclosed, underutilized space. To create a more functional space for the Broduer’s we decided to demo walls that have no functional purpose. All while implementing scandinavian and farmhouse touches to the home.

PLANNING “Shawn and Jalen Hill live in Cannon Beach Ore., with their two golden retrievers, Waffles and Noodles. For the past 20 years, they’ve lived in a Portland suburb and decided it was time to fulfill their dream of relocating to a beach house. The time is right, since they are both semiretired, and can work remotely when necessary. They purchased their forever home because of its stunning location on the Oregon cost and it’s generous rooms. The house sits on a larger property - perfect for romps with Waffles and Noodles

HOM E & LIVING

The Hill family was very adamant on including functional dog spaces around their forever home. Putting that into consideration my team and I decided to go with a custom, built-in dog feeder into the kitchen island for Waffles and Noodles. It is easy access and very functionable. Hence aging in place.
