EDITORIAL Brett Connell - VAFA CEO Super celebration at the VAFA Awards Dinner Division, U19 and Thirds Grand Finals acknowledged as the best young player in your respective competitions.
On Wednesday evening, the VAFA hosted some 400 guests at the Pullman in East Melbourne for our inaugural VAFA Awards Dinner.
The Coaches MVP Awards for our William Buck Premier Men’s competition, Gus Borthwick (Old Melburnians), and William Buck Premier Women’s, Vanessa Murphy (Old Trinity), were also presented on the night – says something about a player when selected by your respective competition club coaches, well done on your year’s individually.
The night has been two years in the making, given over the last two years we have had separate events to acknowledge individual award winners in both our men’s and women’s competitions and the change has been driven by wanting to be as inclusive an Association as possible. Combining the two awards nights allows our players, clubs and competition in general to celebrate individual excellence across the year gone by, as well as not add further VAFA events to our volunteers already busy schedules. Congratulations are extended to Woodrow Medallist Ayce Cordy (University Blues) on taking out the highest individual honour in the William Buck Premier men’s competition, and Women’s Premier Competition medallist Imogen Barnett (Old Trinity) who was the recipient of the William Buck Premier Women’s award – both players had terrific individual seasons capped off by their wins on Wednesday.
In previous years, the Woodrow Medal has been a vote count format, this year we tried a different style. While we moved away from tradition, it also added a wonderful celebration of our best individual performers in 2019. we moved
While away from tradition, it also added a wonderful celebration of our best individual performers in 2019.
Given the number of awards to be recognised on the night pre-counting had been done for all competitions and a radio broadcast on RSN Carnival aired two Wednesdays ago (September 4) – you can pick up a replay of this if you missed it via the VAFA podcast.
To the successful Thirds Premiers last week – Caulfield Grammarians, Hawthorn AFC, Williamstown CYMS & St Mary’s Salesian, congratulations.
While the elite winners are exulted across our William Buck Premier competitions, we also crowned men’s and women’s medallists in our Premier B, Premier C, Division 1-4, and Holmesglen U19 sections – refer to FTLOTG for a full list.
To the successful Preliminary Final winners UHS-VU (on a thriller after the siren in extra time), Bunswick NOBs, Manningham Cobras and Albert Park – congratulations for also gaining promotion in 2020.
Add to that Leading Goalkickers, acknowledging all of our senior men’s and women’s, U19 and Thirds competitions, and you can well imagine it was a full dance card on the night.
Well it’s all down to the Preliminary Finals this weekend in the Premier sections and Premier Thirds – all the very best to all competing teams. In closing, thanks to everyone involved in the VAFA in 2019, by any measure we have had a successful season and will be well underway in planning for 2020 before you know – thanks for your support of our wonderful Association.
Highlights are always the Men’s Rising Star and Anytime Fitness Women’s Rising Star winners. Congratulations are extended to our Men’s Rising Star, Hamish Dick (Old Brighton) and our Anytime Fitness Women’s Rising Star, Madi Capsalis (Old Mentonians) on what is a significant achievement to be

WILLIAM BUCK PREMIER PREVIEW Nick Armistead - @NickArmistead
William Buck Premier Preview: Old Xavs vs St Kevin’s OB The Midfields - SKOB: Mitch Brown, Nick Wood, Lachie Sullivan and Jack Holden: A bull midfield complemented with the class of Jack Holden. Sullivan wasn’t playing on the weekend but, as Guy Martin alluded to in the pre-game, he is one of, if not the most, dominant mids in the competition. - Old Xavs: Rohan Bewick, Will Hams, Denis Symeopoulos and Marcus Stavrou: If games were won on numbers alone, this lot would already have one hand on the L.A. Adamson Cup. They find plenty of it, they are all class and they certainly don’t mind hitting the scoreboard. The Cream Rises - Brian Waldron explained throughout Sunday’s broadcast the importance of class during finals – Kieran Harper showcased it when he kicked three goals in the third term for Uni Blues and Jarrad Waite drifted across the front of packs all day en route to three important majors for SKOB. Bewick and Noonan will need to impact the match early for Xavs, while Waite and Brown will be heavily relied upon for SKOB. The Big Q’s - Who goes to Jarrad Waite? Noonan? Kelly? Or one of their young stars? - Do Xavs recall Cauley Beetham or Brendan Goss? Beetham’s a big bodied mid capable of shutting down an opponent, while the Goss and Handley combination has caused headaches for defences for years. - Can Xavs hit their 50+ tackles stat? During the pre-game show on RSN Carnival, Paul Satterley expressed his desire for Xavs to have 50+ tackles and their success rate when that number is reached. While they just missed out on the win over the weekend, Satts would be ecstatic with their 79 tackles! - Is Mitch Brown the difference? Probably. - Should you be excited? Absolutely!
If last weekend’s results were an indication of future success, we are in for an absolute belter when Old Xaverians and St Kevin’s OB meet in this weekend’s preliminary final at Elsternwick Park. Old Xavs, who fell to Uni Blues in a thriller on Saturday, will be looking to rebound with inclusions the ilk of Jason Holmes. As for SKOB, they were simply outstanding throughout their 31-point victory over Collegians and with Lachie Sullivan set to return, this clash should pull the biggest crowd in recent years. After piecing together an incredible season and being crowned the minor premiers, University Blues earnt a grand final spot and a chance at their first A Grade/ William Buck Premier flag since 2004 when they ran out nine-point winners over Xavs. After losing fi ve straight Premier finals, the monkey has officially been lifted and the Blues will enjoy the week off, hoping this match is the physical encounter we all expect it to be. Head-to-Head: 1-1 - These two sides went 1-all in their two games this year with both holding firm on home soil. They first met in Round 2, when Xavs piled on six goals to one in the opening term and held on by 17 points despite Jarrad Waite’s fi ve goals. It was a completely different story in the Round 12 re-match as SKOB came out of the double bye with eight of the first nine goals in what eventuated as a 40-point win. Anthony Lynch vs Jason Holmes - This is where it starts and ends for mine. While Holmes had 60 hit outs when the two sides last met in Round 12, his influence was minimised due to Lynch’s ability to apply body contact through the muddy TH King midfield. Elsternwick Park’s centre square is more akin to the Lord’s outfield than the King in mid-July so expect Holmes to use his elite vertical leap as often as possible to negate Lynch’s strength. If it turns into a wrestle, there will be just one winner.

PREMIER B PREVIEW Jake Morris
Fields end seven year hoodoo, Blacks sink Beauy REVIEW In a clash featuring the two perennial powerhouses of Premer B, did we expect anything less? With little separating them all afternoon, it was Caulfield Grammarians who came out on top as they survived an Old Scotch final quarter fightback by a solitary point to advance to the second last Saturday in September, while also qualifying for William Buck Premier for the first time since 2012. Following a Julian Dobosz set-shot from the boundary that gave Caufield a game-high 15-point lead midway through the final term, a crumbing effort from goal sneak Josh Halsall and a captain’s major from Gene Van Den Broek saw the Cards crawl all the way back to a one-point defi cit with under two-minutes remaining. A crucial clearance won by Jack Wallace sent the ball into the Fields forward 50 from where his side were able to hold on, booking their first Premier B Grand Final tickets since 2011. Nathan Page and Julian Dobosz each kicked three, with Dobosz booting two instrumental final-quarter majors, while Nathan Peterson, Page and Lachie Stephens were given the votes on a memorable day for the club that earns them the week off. Scotch were gallant in defeat, exchanging blows with Caulfield all day and never lying down despite falling behind late. Ben Hays, Josh Halsall and Gene Van Den Broek each kicked two while on-baller Jack Bull was named his sides best. The Cards will lick their wounds and return this Saturday for a mouthwatering preliminary final clash with University Blacks. Returning to the Premier B Preliminary Final stage after falling short in 2018 will be University Blacks after they proved too strong for Beaumaris, running out convincing 82-point victors. Following a Harrison Edwards goal at the 10-minute mark of the opening term that gave Beaumaris an early 6-point lead, the Blacks would proceed to kick the next 12 goals of the match, leaving the Sharks without a major after quarter time to steamroll through to their ninth win in a row and another Preliminary Final. Jordan Quaile was the question the Sharks had no answer for, with the small forward thriving in the wet conditions, booting a career-high fi ve goals. Charlie Richardson and
Daniel McCollough also bobbed up for two apiece, while Bede Mahon and Samuel Bennett received the votes in the win. Beaumaris’ gallant season ends on a rough note, simply outclassed by the level of competition their opponents possess. Matt Petering and Harrison Edwards were their only goal-scorers on the day, while Lewis Diggins was judged their best. The youth and inexperience this side has would have learned some valuable lessons in 2019, and no doubt it’ll be used in good stead when Beaumaris return to Premier B for another crack in 2020.
PREVIEW Preliminary Final: Old Scotch vs University Blacks A true flip of the coin. Along with Caulfield, these two outfi ts have been as close to elite as you can possibly be, taking Premier B all before them and earning their rightful spot in a do-or-die clash to return to William Buck Premier. Since 2011, these two sides have faced off nine times, with seven of them coming in Premier grade, and one of them in a final in 2013 in which the Uni Blacks won by 19 points. The Blacks hold the head-to-head lead 5-4, with their most recent victory coming in Round 13 this year by 26 points. Scotch also grabbed a victory earlier in the year when they defended their fortress to run out 32-point winners in Round 7. Scotch enter this clash averaging just under 100 points per game while conceding just 57, while the Blacks average 99ppg and hold teams to a league best 51.6 points per contest. What to watch: The Premier B version of Gawn vs Grundy. Josh Steadman and Tom Downie going head-to-head in the ruck will be a sight to see. How will Scotch counteract Blacks stifling defensive unit? Chris Carson, Morgan Fawcett and company have held the stingiest defensive unit together this year, will Josh Halsall and Tom Downie be able to kick a winning score? James Samson, Will Mitchell & Andrew Jelbart vs Jarrod Carlson, Tom Swift and Bede Mahon. Two dominamt midfields with elite ball winners.

Premier C Preliminary Final Preview: Ormond vs Ajax REVIEW
PREVIEW
So many things for minor premiers, Williamstown CYMS, to celebrate following their Saturday afternoon victory over Ormond to the tune of 28 points; (1) Their perfect season continues, (2) they’ll feature in the 2019 Premier C Grand Final & (3) they’ve earnt subsequent promotion to Premier B in 2020 for the first time in the club’s history. A vast improvement on their 104-point loss in Round 15, the Monders were well led in this instance by young gun Dae Szydlik (BOG), as well as Hamish Ramsay and Max Kennedy, but the class of the CY’s unit – this time headlined by equal leading Premier C goalkicker, Lachlan Fairley (3), plus Russell Ackerley and Damon Tucker – proved a cut above once again. With an incredible average winning margin of 68 points during the home & away season, Ormond are just the fourth team this year to be within a 30-point margin of the Grand Final bound CY’s come the final siren – a glimmer of hope that perhaps they can be beaten in the season decider.
Preliminary Final: Ormond vs Ajax
With Ajax’s Jake Lew sitting atop the goal kicking leader board with 42 majors for the year, and with club captain Nick Lewis polling 14 votes to finish 5th in the 2019 Zachariah Medal count, the top end talent in this side is abundantly clear. The club have a lot of faith in players like Charles Hamilton, Brent Shapiro and Daniel Janover-Rocha, as seen in their combined 24 times in the best throughout the year, and they’ll need a field of contributors if they hope to replicate their 39-point Round 18 victory over this week’s rivals.
Vastly different conditions greeted Ajax and Old Ivanhoe in the elimination final at Trevor Barker Oval on Sunday afternoon, and despite their being only a point in it at 3QT, the Jackas stretched to a 10-point victory to make it win number eight in a row (11 for the year) and book their place in the Preliminary Final. With torrential rain and wind pelting the ground, both Ajax and the Hoers experienced relatively low scoring afternoons comparatively to their usual standards, though it was the latter who looked better placed at half-time with a 14-point lead. Despite the standout efforts of Michael Mitris (1), Hamish Shepheard and Kane Veliou, Old Ivanhoe were simply unable to quell the determined Jackas – who were ably led by Jordan Cohen (1), Richie Simon and Toby Sheezel.
In what is arguably one of the more difficult section jumps in the VAFA competition (Division 1 to Premier C), the Monders have done fantastically well to retain talent from their 2018 premiership winning team, and have overall had an outstanding season since their promotion at the conclusion of last year. Familiar names Simon Buckley, Max Kennedy, Dae Szydlik and Ethan Hanley will be ones to watch this weekend, with Kennedy proving a particularly big-game performer following his BOG medal in the 2018 Division 1 Grand Final, and he continued to lead by example in last week’s Semi-Final loss. Looking past their defeat at the Jackas hands in the final round of the home & away season, the Monders experienced success against their Preliminary Final opponents in Round 8 thanks to a fi ve-goal Buckley outing at Gary Smorgan Oval.
Ajax certainly made the most of their first finals appearance since 2011 last weekend, and they carry some pretty enviable momentum heading into this weekend; their last remaining obstacle to a 2020 Premier B return, and opportunity to seize Premier C silverware. Standing in path, and determined not to let them pass, is our reigning Division 1 Premiers, Ormond – a side no stranger to finals footy having participated in three finals campaigns in that same period (2011-2018).

Czajko! Vultures advance to face Preston for threepeat Grand Final Preview
Football in September at its climactic best. Thanks to a Lucas Czajko goal after the siren in extratime, UHS-VU have advanced to the Division 1 Grand Final with a heart-stopping victory over Peninsula, securing promotion for the third year in a row and setting up a promoter’s dream clash with Preston Bullants. Despite not leading at all between the sirens all afternoon, and inaccuracy in-front of the big sticks cruelling their continued effort (10.21), the Vultures somehow managed to escape with one of the biggest victories in the club’s history by three-points. The Pirates continued their scorching form early as they launched out of the gates to grab a four-goal lead at the opening break, and despite being beaten around the ball in the second and third terms, Peninsula’s ability to convert in-front of goal was enough to see them hold a slim four-point lead entering the final quarter. A James Dimattina major with 50 seconds to go in the fourth brought the Vultures all the way back to level footing with the Pirates, and as the siren blew to end the fourth quarter, extra time was needed to separate the two sides. Enter Lucas Czajko. Trailing by three with the siren sounding and the ball in his hands 35 meters out directly in-front, the youngster kicked truly to erupt the green and brown army at Waverley Oval. Dimattina, Brandon Jackson and Tom Waters each kicked two apiece while Charles Jackson was named best afield for UHS in just his ninth game for the side. Josh Goudge and Shaun Payze kicked three each for Peninsula while Ash Collins was named his sides best in a result that ends what was a gallant run to September.
Preston Bullants vs UHS-VU Thanks to Czajko’s heroics, the Vultures will now progress to their third consecutive Grand Final appearance where they will face off with the almighty Preston for the Division 1 Premiership. Combined, the two sides have progressed through the VAFA’s Division competitions seven times since 2013, with Preston claiming flags in 13’, 14’ and 16’, and Uni High the last two seasons elevating them from D3 to Premier C in 2020. After brushing aside the Vultures a fortnight ago at Elsternwick Park in Semi-Final 2, and entering on a 12-game winning streak dating all the way back to mid-May, the Bullants will enter firm favourites to secure their fourth flag in their short history since joining the VAFA in 2011. Recent matchups is also on Prestons side, as they hold a 5-0 record against the Vultures, including 3-0 in 2019. Jack Sammartino has been the thorn in UHS side up forward with 11 goals from their three clashes this year, while Tom Hill has booted eight to create a two-headed monster. Despite coming up against the likes of James King and the Calcedo brothers, the Vultures deep midfield led by Ben Dimattina and Esubalew Ramsay can more than match it with Preston. Will the Bullants make it four flags in seven years or will the Vultures right their wrongs, ride the wave of momentum and achieve threepeat glory? Make sure to keep a close eye on this one as the Division 1 season reaches it’s climax.

DIVISION 2 REPORT Anna Pavlou
Division 2 Grand Final Preview Review
The focus remains on the massive Semi Final win from the Friars over the Nobbers, as they promoted themselves with a 143-point annihilation of the second-placed side. The Nobbers know they are a significantly more competitive side than the one that took to the field two weeks ago, but they’ve got to shut down the undefeated Friars early and prevent them from utilising their multi-faceted forward line. This means the Nobbers must not focus too heavily on a few forwards, such as Sam Kiesker and Michael Nitas, instead creating a midfield plan that sees the Friars early run on condensed to the middle. The Friars love to run and spread and the big grounds have always been in their favour, so don’t be surprised if they come out of the blocks early and set the tone early anyway.
Preliminary Final: Brunswick vs MHSOB In a 58-point win over MHSOB, Brunswick NOBS have secured their promotion to Division 1 and locked in a Grand Final appearance next week. The Nobbers dominated the first quarter, but were wasteful in front of goal, kicking one goal (Dom Sullivan) from their eight shots. However, despite the failure to capitalise early, the Nobs defence quickly shut down any Unicorn run on, holding them goalless until the second quarter. Unicorn James Tran came out early with a much needed goal for his side, but that momentum didn’t seem to flow, as their next goal only came at the end of the second term (Kane Smith). In that time, Nobbers Matt Brown and Kyle Adams booted one goal each to help their side hold a steady two-goal half time lead.
In the two meetings between these sides in the home and away season, Whitefriars ran out convincing winners on both occasions, winning comfortably by 48 and 49 points. It has proven hard to stop their multi-faceted forward line, with an amazing 29 players having kicked a goal this season. Brunswick on the other hand has also been prolific in front of goal with leading goalkicker Dom Sullivan (42), Jacob Atkins (38) and Chris Ford (33). Both sides can score feely but it’s in the back half where this game will be won. In their two matches this season, Whitefriars miserly defence has held the Nobs to 10 and 11 goals, respectively. The Brunswick forward line is potent, but the Whitefriars defence is tight and will make the Nobs forwards earn every kick.
After half time, the Nobbers began to flex, booting six unanswered goals, with three stemming from Chris Ford in a commanding quarter. The Unicorns struggled in the final term also, failing to kick another goal for the game. They missed 12 shots on goal which could have helped them challenge the Grand Final bound Nobbers, who booted two late goals to seal victory. For MHSOB, who should be congratulated for their hardfought run to the finals, Louis Phillips was BOG, supported by Angus Lane. For the winners, James Schmidt was dominative across the ground, with Danny King also prominent in his side’s win.
Both sides have made a rightful case for the Premiership, but it’s hard to see the undefeated Whitefriars fumbling at the last hurdle.
Division 2 Grand Final Preview
Prediction: Whitefriars by 45 points A.R Fellows Medal Prediction: Kristian Height Reserves Grand Final - MHSOB vs Whitefriars
Whitefriars vs Brunswick Nobs After nearly 100 games across the home & away season for 2019, the top two sides have rightfully booked their spot in the Division 2 Grand Final as well as promotion to Division 1.
The Whitefriars boys are looking to go back-to-back in their Reserves Grand Final over a well-rested MHSOB side. The MHSOB had a much-needed rest and have the numbers to be comfortable, while the Friars have both sides in the big dance.
The Friars have taken all before them in 2019 completing a perfect year to date, averaging an astonishing 21 goals per game and done just as well at the other end conceding a low average of seven goals per game. Their record against the top sides is impressive and after bowing out last season in the Preliminary Final, the club firmly has the flag in their sights. They do, however, need to overcome an impressive Brunswick Nobs who, after being relegated from Division 1 last season, have certainly put together an impressive body of work losing only three games and finishing in clear second place. Their recent form has been excellent and they would rate their chances this week.
Corey Dineen was prominent for the Friars in their Preliminary Final win last week over Glen Eira with two goals, so he’ll be a big worry for the Unicorn defenders. From MHSOB, who were minor premiers, Anthony Tran has been dominant in the latter of the season and was given votes in their Semi win two weeks ago. It will be a low scoring affair as both sides play a defensive, but high intensity game. Prediction: Pumped up Friars to win a tight tussle by 12 points 25
DIVISION 3 REPORT Tash Gunawardana
Aquinas College. It was a second half surge that allowed the Cobras to pile on nine majors to the Bloods four in what was a complete momentum shift from the first half to the second half.
A strong third term from Manningham Cobras helped earn them a 15-point victory over Emmaus St Leos at Whitefriars College in the Preliminary Final. With the win, the Cobras have progressed through to the Grand Final to play Aquinas where they will be determined to topple the Bloods after they went down to them two weeks ago. Unlikely to be content with just the minor premiership from Division 3, they team will be striving to get their hands on some silverware.
In this match, the Bloods Joshua Robertson was the main weapon up forward with six goals and this saw him earn best on ground honours. For the Cobras, it was again Maghamez who was their main go to up forward, booting through four goals. Jarryd Croxford was awarded best afield.
The Preliminary Final had many ebbs and flows throughout with neither team able to gain ascendancy with only five points the gap at the main break. The Cobras came out with intent in the second half, determined to bridge the gap on the scoreboard and they definitely achieved this kicking four majors to the Animals one. In the final quarter, the Cobras continued with this momentum with two goals to the Animals one. The second half surge from the Cobras was led by Division 3 leading goal kicker Kane Maghamez, who proved to be a handful for the Animals with four goals and he was also the BOG for the Cobras. The Animals did not have multiple goal kickers with Matt Hill, Kieran Mair, Hugh Schaeche and Jack Hunt all contributing a goal each to their sides four goal total.
The Cobras brought home the win in the final round of the home & away season by 11 points at the Koonung Reserve. It was a similar match to their previous Round 7 clash, with the Bloods the team of the first half with seven majors to the Cobras three, but then the Cobras kicked into gear in the second half with 12 goals to the Bloods seven to get over the line. A tick for the Bloods was they were able to keep Maghamez to only a goal, but this did not rattle the Cobras goal scoring power up forward as fellow forward Anthony Raso was named best on ground along with his bag of five goals and Jake Cawsey chipped in with three. For the Bloods, Robertson and Matthew Allwood were the forward standouts with four goals each. Russell Foster was named Aquinas’ best player.
GRAND FINAL PREVIEW:
Players to watch:
After 20 weeks of exciting football with plenty of ups and downs, the 2019 Division 3 season will come to an end this weekend with the Grand Final between two top sides Aquinas and the Manningham Cobras, at Garvey Oval on Sunday afternoon.
Raso will hope to return to his form in Round 7 when he contributed five goals, as he looks to influence this Grand Final for the Cobras. Aquinas will go a long way to becoming premiers if Robertson continues his impressive season form that has seen him come second in the leading goal kickers in the division.
The Bloods will have all of the confidence heading into the Grand Final after they defeated the Cobras in the SemiFinal two weeks ago by 11 points. With the week off, the Bloods will be well rested and raring to go on their quest to topple the minor premiers for the second time in three weeks and secure the Division 3 premiership.
The Cobras will look to Jarryd Croxford and Michael Parkes, who were named their best in the last two encounters between the two sides. Michael Muller registered just the one major for all his efforts in their last encounter, so he will be determined to make a bigger impact on the scoreboard.
Manningham won the two meetings between the sides in the home & away season. In the earlier clash in Round 7, the Cobras were challenged in the first half but were able to overcome the Bloods to run out winners by 20 points at
Expect both teams to leave nothing left in the tank with the goal of being crowned the Division 3 Premiers.

Division 4 Grand Final Preview REVIEW
PREVIEW
Preliminary Final: Albert Park vs Elsternwick
Grand Final: St Francis Xavier OC vs Albert Park
A scintillating open quarter has seen Albert Park move onto the Division 4 Grand Final, running out 30-point winners in the Preliminary Final. The Falcons came out firing, taking a four goal lead into quarter time, and never looked back. Nicholas Materia led the Falcons, going hard at the contest all day to be named the best on ground, no easy feat in a Prelim. Joshua Beets and James Brick were again the leading goal scorers for Albert Park, kicking three and two, respectively. Elsternwick’s Nicholas Lowrie was brilliant again, being named the best for the Wickers, while Lachlan Lloyd and Jarred Swire both produced two goals each. As the season ends now for the Wickers they will look towards next season, where they will surely be one of the favourites to top the division, as they search to climb up the lengthy VAFA ladder. The Falcons turn their heads towards the big dance, where they will face St Francis Xavier.
With Grand Final week now upon us, we look towards the two benchmarks of the section. The two sides met in week one of the finals, for a chance to book an early entrance into the Grand Final, and we witnessed a great back and forth contest that saw the minor premiers, St Francis Xavier, win a nail biter by just 14 points. If we get a game anywhere near the quality of their earlier finals matchup, we are in for a treat. Albert Park, led by Joshua Beets in attack, have been dominant all year, finishing with a 12-4 win loss record in the home & away season. A quality list of players have donned the Falcons jumper this season, with Thomas Wilson being one of the major standouts. For St Francis Xavier, led by The Marcus and Harrison Coe Show, they have been a frightening prospect for their opponents this season. Harrison Coe has been outstanding, booting 112 goals to date, while Stephen RichardsGill has been a more than prolific sidekick, collecting 47 goals next to his name. As well as having a dominant forward line, the X-Men also lay claim to OJ Meehan Medal winner, Daniel Chin, who won the divisions Best and Fairest award last week. This contest is full to the brim of star studded players, and everyone is on the edge of their seats to see who will be crowned the premiers of the division. Prediction: St Francis Xavier by 9.
