Leon "Sacha" Der Calousdian, a third generation French jewelry designer was schooled in Paris. Sacha arrived in New York where he began his career designing for distinguished brands such as Cartier and David Webb. He formed Alwand Vahan Jewelry Ltd in 1968 with a vision to create unique collections of fashionable yet comfortable earrings. In 1995, Sacha launched his diamond, gold and silver collections that have evolved into the award winning VAHAN brand it is today. For almost 50 years VAHAN has kept the same unique vision and now includes a fourth generation designer, Sacha’s elder son, Greg Der Calousdian who has contributed a new dimension to the company’s collections and overall strategy.
