Our Regional Housing Market is Slowing Down! Homes values declined again last month across the country and in many large California metro areas, continuing a pattern where housing prices are falling, according to Zillow, Realtor.com, Sacramento Bee, KCRA. com and numerous other reliable sources. The Sacramento region was no exception: Homes values fell again last month although prices remained much lower than in other large regions of the state. Topping Sacramento were San Diego, San Francisco and San Jose, where the median price of a home was $1.176 million. Nevertheless, Sacramento remains far more expensive compared to other areas of the country. The median home value in the Sacramento region was $411,800 in May, compared with the U.S. median of $226,800. Unfortunate though it may be for sellers, demand for real estate has softened significantly. Now is the time to make that game change, there are solutions to get that home sold.
Price your home to the market. When faced with a slow market, pricing your home correctly is even more important than usual. You need to reduce your home at a lower price in order to remain competitive with locally comparable properties. Remember, chasing an unrealistic sale price is the worst mistake a seller can make.
