When it comes to marketing your blog, there are many effective ways to get your blog exposed to your audience. I’m going to introduce to you the concept of blog communities and what Blog Engage brings to the table. Blog communities connect people to blogs, and bloggers to other bloggers. What better place to get your content seen than an online community that is content-rich of topics within your given area of expertise? When people

see your content that comes from an “authority” site, you appear more credible. The more credibility you have, the more readers will take you seriously. Just make sure that you are giving the audience what they want. Even though there are many blog communities that you can join for free, Blog Engage prides itself with requiring bloggers a one-time signup fee of $29.99. You may feel that you shouldn’t be charged to post your content, especially if you have your own blog already. At first, I was thinking the same thing. But I look at it as a filtering process in order to weed out potential spammers. If someone is willing to pay a signup fee to become part of such an exclusive community, then the level of commitment must be serious on some level. If not, then it’s just $29.99 wasted. There are optional monthly packages that can be purchased if you want to take advantage of the Blog Engage RSS Syndication. The purpose of this post is not to go into depth with the additional packages. If you want to find more info on them go to Blog Engage RSS Syndication Services. Yes, there is a way to join for free. Interestingly enough, Blog Engage promotes contests by the members to allow new members to have their signup fee waived. This is a power strategy, for it gives members a way to pay-it-forward while also increasing exposure. As a matter of fact, this very post is being written so that I may be entered into one of the contests! If you want to enter the same contest as well, go to Win Free Traffic and Backlink of the Year 2011 With Blog Engage. My take on it is that you shouldn’t spend money on anything, but invest it. By paying for the Blog Engage services and being connected to the community you have an opportunity to connect with some well-known bloggers who have built entire businesses by blogging. If you are committed to increasing your exposure and leveraging blog communities to create momentum for your business, then it is worth the investment. If you are treating your blogging as a hobby, then you are just spending money. It is up to you to determine if $29.99 is worth spending or investing. P.S. – Blog Engage and blog communities in general, are definitely beneficial for the serious blogger. If you are monetizing your blog, or building a business online, then it is vital to your success to “rub elbows” with successful bloggers. By joining blog communities, you are able to connect with some of the best bloggers and leverage your association with them to increase your exposure as well as your bottom line.
