Acording to the Fair Trade Labelling Organization if the company provides the workers with housing, the conditions and the infrastructure of the house must be such as to ensure decency, privacy and s e c u r i t y. T h e a n n u a l investment in housing improvement should be at least the equivalent of what would have been paid if workers lived off-site, i.e. for housing and transport allowances. Workers who do not receive housing should be compensated otherwise.
